@Gerard > What is the size of the library and all the audio files?
I'm am used to importing my Rekorbox Library onto another laptop with Rekordbox. Now I have a new Acer Predator Laptop with Windows 10 and I installed the latest version of Rekordbox. When I try to import my Rekordobx Library it fails and I receive the message that there is not enough storage space. Since the laptop has plenty of capacity (1.0 TB) I can not imagine that this is correct but it might be necessary to remove the concernedRekordbox to another location with enough storage capacity. However I am not able to find out how to do this. Does anyone know this or have another solution ?
Best regards,
DJ Gerardo

@Gerard > What is the size of the library and all the audio files?
There are more than 10.000 songs in it so the size of the library is rather big, 109 gb to be exact.
Yeah, so that would be why it won't let you import it -- you likely created the backup to include your music files.
Do you still have access to the old computer?
I am not sure if that is the reason since I have already imported my library in the same way on another computer several times without any problem whatsoever. And this computer has far less capacity the the Acer Predator laptop that I am trying to import the files this time. Yes I have access to the old computer. That is the laptop that I use to make the library with. On this laptop are all the mp3 files stored that I use with Rekordbox together with many other programs, and this laptop also has far less capacity than the Predator, which I only use for DJíng and which has hardly any other programs on it other than Rekordbox.
@Gerard > If your music collection is 109GB and your internal hard drive is 100GB, the music won't fit. Are you using an external drive as the source of your music?
Thanks for your reply. The problem is not the capacity of the laptop since it has a capacity of 1.0 TB. The capacity however is divided over 2 drives C and D.C has a capacity of only 128 Gb and D has a capacity of 1TB. Rekordbox automaticly puts the library in drive C which has not enough capacity and I cannot seem to find out how to change this into D. If the library would be placed into drive D there would not be any problem whatsoever. Do you know how to change the settings from C to D ?
Sorry! TB/GB ... not paying attention. ;)
Yes, that partition would be the problem. You should use a partition manager software that can remove the partition and put all the space into the C drive without damaging the data therein.
rekordbox isn't known to play nice with multiple partitions, my recommendation would be to either remove the partition or use the database from an external drive.
Thanks again. That is exactly the problem; There is no partition but 2 different drives, otherwise I would have moved capacity ftom one partition to another. Rekordbox doesn't allow the user to choose a drive for storing the library, so using the database from an external drive is also no option unfortunately..
Ah, in that case, it simply matters which filesystem the drives are using. Your OS drive can be any filesystem, but in order for additional drives to be visible, they must be FAT32 or HFS+ (Mac only). I'm guessing your D drive is NTFS or exFAT?
Okay thanks. that I can try. Although I don't really think that's the answer to the problem. The only problem is that Rekordbox doesn't allow the user to choose the the for storing the library, although Rekordbox recognizes the D drive.
I have some thoughts on that but would need to test it on my Windows machine before suggesting you try it. I don't want to provide any advice that may screw things up. ;)
Okay thanks. That's fair enough. Take your time, I look forward to your further comments..
