At home I have a desktop computer with rekordbox installed as my primary "work station" for music collection. Entire rekordbox collection is on an external drive.
Usually i prepare music, export it to a flash drive and go to a club with my XDJ - and everything is perfect.
At home, i connect to XDJ with LINK and play like that.
Next week I have an allnighter gig and want to play music with XDJ connected via LINK and a notebook. I have installed rekordbox (latest), connected external drive and everything is just fine. I can see all the beatgrids, everything seems the same as on my desktop library.
But, when i connect XDJ via LINK directly to notebook via lan cable and load a track, XDJ says that in order to use quantize feature it needs beatgrid information and waveform is not displayed.
Please, I urgently need this to solve before the gig.
How can I solve this?
Library seems fine, all information is there. It is just not transfred to XDJ on notebook LINK.
The only difference i can think of right now is that my desktop > XDJ connection goes through a switch witch is on a router network.
Notebook > XDJ connection goes directly from notebook port to XDJ port.
I actually thought this will not work at all (connection) but seems fine.

If your tracks are all properly analysed and have a beatgrid, then the problem is most likely the router blocking some of the network traffic. Either use the connection directly or ensure that your network traffic management features of the router are disabled.

Hi Pulse.
I have actually tried both:
notebook > XDJ
notebook > router > XDJ
Behaviour is same on both networks.
Additionally, i have checked windows firewall definitions and all the required rekordbox file definitions are defined (TCP and UDP), i have also tried to disable firewall completely - but problem persist.
Then, i have also tried to remove external disk and open rekordbox with default master database residing on default system disk. By default, when rekordbox is installed, there are 4 short demo files. I have tried to load these files to XDJ via LINK and the warning message about quantize also appears, with a difference, that this time i can actually see waveforms.
I am mentioning this, because these 4 files are the only ones actually analyzed by notebook rekordbox installation. External master database files were analyzed by my desktop computer.
So, the warning message still persist, but waveforms can be seen.
Should I do anything else when i connect and choose external disk master datatabse? Like import backup created on dekstop computer, overwrite some XML or something?
Do you have any additional suggestions what I could try?
The desktop computer I usually use for LINK connection is Windows 10, whereas notebook has Windows 7 Enterprise installation. I am just mentioning this if it is relevant.

Ok, searching through the forums, i have found additional things i can still try:
- disable wifi
- disable sharing
- change network type (private/public)
Hope the problem is in one of these.
So, i've tried virtually everything i can think of related to network configurations, but can't get it to work properly. I am still not getting beatgrid information to RX.
Disabled wifi, disabled sharing, changed network type...
I am actually less and less sure the problem is actually in the network.
If there would be a network problem the LINK button wouldn't even appear, imho.
When the LINK button is visible, and when i can connect to RX, i don't see a reason why only beatgrid information would be lost in the communication.

Tried Wi-Fi connection. Same thing.
Ok, tried another notebook, this time Windows 10, works on first try without any kind of special configuration. Plug and Play basically.
So it seems there is something with that notebook network configuration after all, but seems like it is related to network card drivers or Win7 itself. Bummer.
Yeah, it's almost always an issue with the computer / a configuration within the OS, and the fact you were able to get it running with another computer narrows it down to eliminate the XDJ as being the problem.
Have you tried scanning your Win7 machine for malware and viruses?
