Rekordbox response slower after installing SSD
Hi All,
I had to replace my HDD with an SSD but now i noticed RB response is slow. I installed the SSD so RB will respond more faster not the other way around. My desktop has a HDD with RB installed and i notice the difference in speeds and i mean a lot.
My lap is an I5 running on 8GB of Ram, My desktop is I7 4GB Ram.
It used to be very fast. I played via HID mode with 2 CDJ 2000 and the longer it was connected the slower it was getting and the wave was lagging when playing and cannot search for songs without getting stuck. This is embarrassing when you have a packed dance floor.
I read a few forums and what i come to notice is that people who are using SSD's are having this issue and its a very big concern cos the risk of a HDD failing is higher than a SSD and SSD's are known to be faster read/write than a HDD.
I strongly believe your development team should look into this as or please advise alternate solution as i need this issue addressed.

I have the same problem!!
I found out that computer get really hot - CPU is going till even +99C and sometimes +100C especially when I: A) change/use tempo B) use SYNC button C) push CUE few times on a row D) searching songs E) use effects
--->>> I installed "Macs Fan Control" and even when I manually set fan to 6000 rpm, computer gets hot and when it's over +94C sound gets cripple!!! :(((
I turn out all other apps, even wifi!
Comparing: Traktor PRO gets only till +78C +82C with active using and I can even hold few other app open (like Mail, Safari, eXcel, Skype) and still fine.
I have MacBook Pro (13-inch, Late 2011), 2,4 GHz Intel Core i5, 6 GB 1333 MHz DDR3, Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB, 480 GB Solid State SATA Drive (with 12GB free space).
Please, Pioneer - do something for this!
Meanwhile, it's already one month - I barrow from my friend NI controller and use Traktor for my dj sets...

rekordbox engineers answered as follows:
The storage recommended for HP ProBook 4540s is 320GB HDD 7200rpm (Serial ATA II).
It seems the computer manufacturer may not guarantee the expected behaviors if you replace the recommended HDD with any SSD.
It would not be a good idea to replace original parts with third party's ones.
