RBDJ 4.2.2: Track Sync & Loop Issues still remain :(

***********************

Much against my best wishes it would appear the only way to keep tracks 'in time' within RBDJ is to use the sync feature, manual/by ear simply does not cut it and results in really messy loops and a whole heap on unenjoyable issues when mixing.

As per Pulse's suggestion I have re-gridded a large portion of tracks (they are now metronome perfect, tight cue points etc...) and tried 'mixing' using sync with quantise on (to ensure RBDJ 'sees' the BPMs of both tracks as the same).

This has helped keep track in time when mixing (hooray!) and the loops tighter (not perfect, but much better than before), however it has caused a 'new' issue.

  1. Both tracks in the mix using sync = BPMs exact
  2. Loop the outgoing track atthe exit point you want
  3. Loop the incoming track at the starting point you want to mix in
  4. Blend both track = tracks keep time

Release the 'loop' on the incoming track and it disengages the 'sync' on this deck = track starts to drift wildly out of time AGAIN, even though BPMs are exact and were in time already with no changes other than releasing the loop?

Not really sure where to start on the above as it is a little comical given this was the 'solution' to getting mixes to stay in time - rather than addressing what seems to be a clear issue faced by a large percentage (of the non Pioneer affiliated) RBDJ users.

Am really regretting going all in on RBDJ, given SeratoDJ was so tight and working fine for me.

RBDJ just seems to be one headache after another - odd given the RB Library Management software and CDJ hardware integration is 100% perfect and that this was the single reason I finally (after 10 years using Serato) felt confident moving across platforms.

Pioneer over to you.

I've reported this like a month ago.

After I received my RZX I was able to get a couple more seconds of synchronization since the rzx screen shows two decimals points for the speed.

But, it is still present.  you can't keep two tracks synced for more than a 8 seconds without using sync.  (serato was perfect)

Beatmatching on rbdj software is a complete joke,I don't even know how people are using it,it seems to me it only works on sync when you have adjusted every beat grid ,I had a go on a xdjr1 yesterday and it confirmed it yet again as my beatmatching was instantly perfect for a whole 3 hours of mixing when I have never even used one before with no sync on at all, there is something wrong with that crappy software that they won't acknowledge ,it actually makes you a worser dj because you start thinking it's yourself that's making the errors when it isn't.even on vdj8 it works perfectly with my rr and also my tracks sound better again and clearer for some reason.pioneer please stop bringing out controllers with broken software and ripping people off.

Thought I was a mess at beat matching but this happened to me last weekend, beat matching couldn't happen with Rekordbox. Previously, with Traktor or with regular turntables, I beat matched perfectly.

I'm using the latest rb version, 4.2.4
