DDJ-RZ Shift button behaviour

Hi, just wonder how the SHIFT button works for DDJ RZ, just notice that if I press SHIFT button on the left deck its also works for the buttons/functions on the right deck, so I can press DECK 1 SHIFT button and for example clear a hot cue that i had set on DECK 2, is this normal or is something wrong? Is the SHIFT button of DECK 1 the same as DECK 2, send the same general signal? Please some one help me on this. Thanks in advance.

yes this is correct. both shift buttons act as 1. its just more convenient to have one either side for user control than have a single shift button in middle of controller.

if they implement separate shift buttons then different new midi messages will need to be written.

however if they gave us a second shift function then the user could add extra modes suited to each persons needs that is not a direct button on the ddj rz. thinking like switching dvs mode from absolute and relative,,, colour Fx parameter 2 control etc... instead I'm using my keyboard short cuts and mouse on the gui

Ok, Thanks for the response. I would like to see some more features on this as well, Like modifiers on for midi mapping.
