XDJ 700 - Repetition of beat while paused - reset of firmware to factory settings

A quite specific problem for the following set-up:

2x XDJ 700 (linked together) + A&H Xone 22

The following problem occurred only on one player while I was loading presets stored on an USB-Stick. I've never had this issue before.

Problem:

While beeing paused (the track), the mixer shows an constant input of the track from the player (XDJ 700) where it has been paused. It's also hearable via the speakers (constant repetition of this specific part). Once I've pressed the CUE-Button it instantly stops the repetition (not input noticeable anymore). But when I Start/Pause the track again, the problem remains the same.

So are there any solutions to fix it? I've done some resets of the presets to factory standards (not the firmware), but no changes at all. Is there a possiblity to reset/downgrade the firmware (to an earlier version) to tackle this issue?

Help is very much appreciated, thanks in advance.

This is "Stutter Cue" and has been around since CDs were the main DJ tool. It was a rapid repeating of one frame of CD-audio (1/75th of a second) to accurately find the cue location, as there was no "scrub cueing" back then.

Lots of DJs still use this method to cue their tracks!

All CDJ / XDJ players have the stutter on pause in CDJ mode. Turn on Vinyl mode if you don't want it.

Thank you for the advice. It's now running "normally".

Have a good one.

Does anyone actually use this stutter on pause feature? I’m struggling to understand its usefulness. Can anyone explain why it exists?

It allows you to turn the jog wheel and look for a specific sound to cue on. You don't have to use it if you don't find it useful.
