PC optimization for a Rekordbox

Is there an optimization guide for PC? I just got a new pc
Specs:
1tb SSD
Quad core i7 8th gen 1.8ghz
16gb ram

I'm having a little trouble with some garbled sound coming out of my DDJ 1000 but when I plug my tablet into a channel I don't get that sound.
Okay I don't let me go the song on my older laptop which has similar specs. I don't ever remember running any optimizations on the holder PC. But I do have my wife I turned off and I don't believe I have any mental Harris Trevon. Disabled as I don't need it. I would like to have any help you can give

Ugh, I re-read my comment which I used voice to text for via my phone and I sound drunk.

Ok so I was DJing tonight and my sound coming out of my new PC was awful. It sounded like it was 56kbps instead of 320kbps. I mean really bad. At first, I thought it was cables or something, but switched out my cables and had the same effect. Then I thought it may be my controller DDJ-1000 but I had a tablet running RB and the sound was perfect. I don't have this issue with my older laptop but it weighs like 15 pounds and I wanted a lighter PC.

I haven't performed any PC optimizations on this particular PC other that disabling the Nvidia GTX GeForce 1050 graphics card which I don't need to DJ with.

My laptop is a 2-in-1 (meaning it can be a tablet too) but I don't use it as a tablet.

  • Processor
    Intel® Core™ i7 8550U Processor, Quad Core 1.8GHz
  • Operating System
    Windows 10 Home
  • Memory
    16 GB DDR4 2400MHz SDRAM Onboard Memory
  • Display
    15.6" (16:9) LED-backlit UHD (3840x2160) with
    With IPS Technology
  • Graphic
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050, with 2GB DDR4
  • Storage
    Hard Drives:
    1TB SSD (D drive)
    Solid State Drives:
    256GB SATA3 SSD (C drive)

The specs are or should be more than what is required. So I haven't optimized a PC for DJing in quite awhile since I started getting laptops with Core i7. Anyway, I can't find a thread or guide showing any optimizations. I may just go back to my old laptop as I had no problems with that. It has Core i7 4th Gen Quad-core 2.4GHz 24GB Ram 1TB SSD and 186GB SSD (C drive).

Another note, I'm listening to my new PC using RB through the headphones (no controller) right now and the same songs that sounded like garbage sound perfect. So there must be something wrong with the connection from my PC to the DDJ-1000?

This PC has both USB and the USB type C connections. I think I'll try the type C connection next time. I have a type C cable for my controller

Thank you for the info. I actually found quite a few other optimization threads, the most informative one I thought was from Sweetwater: https://www.sweetwater.com/sweetcare/articles/pc-optimization-guide-for-windows-10/

But even after I tried all those optimizations ultimately that laptop would still fail. I came to the conclusion that since it is a 2 in 1 laptop it's never going to work the way I want it to. It would not function with the asio drivers that I installed and when I uninstalled the asio drivers it wouldn't function either. I have an older model Asus Republic of Gamers from 2014. It is a 4th Gen core i7 processor 2.4 GHz and it has 24GB of RAM, and two ssds. I've DJ to my last few events with it and it had zero issues running the latest version of rekordbox and running that PC for at least 5 hours straight. So I went and returned the other two in one Asus and exchanged it for the latest model Asus Republic of Gamers laptop. It has the 8th gen core i7 processor with 6 cores and 16 GB of RAM. I've also installed two ssds in it as well. I played around with it in my studio for a couple hours yesterday and had zero issues. Also I have done zero optimizations to that PC. I just think the gaming laptops since they have more powerful cores and usually a lot more RAM on board can handle programs like this a lot better. But again thank you very much for the different lynx for the optimization. I used to use Native Instruments so I'm very familiar with their optimization process.
