XDJ-RX Phono inputs really muddy / dull

Hi,

I just plugged in some decks into the XDJ-RX. Setting the decks to Phono Out and the XDJ-RX input to Phono, the sound was really muddy with highs noticeably quiet from around the 4Khz mark.

Setting the connection to Line, the sound was perfect. This rules out a problem with the cartridge.

The record player AT-LP120 is known for having not such a great pre-amp, so actually the sound should be worse using its line out.

Anything I can do to improve Phono audio on the XDJ-RX?

mine sound great, try plugging in a CD player or a computer with a decent soundcard to ascertain whether it's your RX's input that's at fault or your turntables' output, I suspect it's the latter

Mine is the same I had to sell it ! The r
Xdj rx2 fixed the issue for me but now having a large sound dip when x fader is in the middle
I don't know which is worse
If I turntables had a digital out on the phono output I'd go with that and stay with the rx1
Wish pioneer would tell us why "when turntables" are plugged into the unit, it sounds like the treble is fully down and the mid raised????
Anything after say 4khz is completely cut out like having an equaliser and turning down 4khz and up all the way to the bottom
Sounds awful I've had better sound quality from an old tape
