Are the DDJ RX / RZ & RZX Outdated

This is not a troll thread but a serious topic are the DDJ RX / RZ & RZX controllers outdated.

With the release of the DDJ 1000 and even the XDJ RX2 last year it looks clear that Pioneer are going for that NXS style layout on new controller releases which has left the DDJ RX / RZ & RZX looking rather outdated.

The DDJ 1000 looks to me the modern replacement for the DDJ RX but what about the RZ & RZX? those 2 controllers still have a price tag higher than the more modern looking DDJ 1000 and even XDJ RX2 but with an outdated layout - would it be safe to assume one of if not both of these controllers are in need of an update? perhaps something like the DDJ 1000 but slightly bigger with more bells and whistles could replace them both a (DDJ 2000) perhaps? something like the DDJ 1000 but with more effects missing from the 1000 and perhaps a more premium build material ie not plastic ..

What's peoples thoughts on this ..

The RX2 has been out for almost 12 months. It was two years between the RX and RX2, so guess there is at least another 12 months left.

Time will till what Pioneer will do. The RZ and RZX are big units whereas the DDJ is definitely more portable.

I'd dare to say that in the future all the (rekordbox) controllers might have the same look similar to the DJM/XDJ but when we will not know.

Which improvements would a possible DDJ-2000 have over the DDJ-1000?

If a DDJ 2000 did happen then I'd expect like I said above a more premium material than the plastic found on the 1000 and I'd like to see obvious things still missing from the 1000 you'd find on NXS mixers like a time dial and many of the effects that are missing too.

Perhaps others on here could offer their thoughts on what they would like to see also.

I've just switched from using NXS gear to a DDJ 1000 and though it's a great controller it's still missing the finishing touches which I'm certain can be fixed if Pioneer listen.

There is a market for controllers and i like what's happening with the DDJ range and being a 1000 owner now who's used NXS gear I just wish certain features where possible.

The DDJ RZ / RZX are the 2 controllers in need of the obvious next Pioneer evolution step in my opinion. A mix of something more premium with the DDJ 1000 / NXS styling is needed.

It will soon be 2019 and if memory serves me right the DDJ RZ / RZX are from 2015, it's hard to see them being pushed for much longer ..
