DDJ-SB3 sample and effect overload when plugged into scarlet 2i2

So I've been trying to route both my mic and DDJ-SB3 through my scarlet for a while and found out how from a forum post on the pioneer forums but it did not explain an issue that I had when running audio through the scarlet. I do it by using a stereo RCA to AUX adapter plugged into my DDJ-SB3 and then using an AUX cord into my scarlet 2i2. I switch the little nob thing in one of the input things to "LINE" and turn up the gain to max. It produces clear rich sound as if it's not going through the scarlet at all but when I turn on reverb all of a sudden the lovely song turns to ear rape and I almost blow out my speakers. The same thing happens when I hit a sample pad with a normally pretty quiet sample. In fact one of the samples I had being a big DJ hit and without yet discovering the audio issue I fell out of my chair and hit my head on the shelf behind me! The tracks are not loud and trim is at max and all faders are at max. I tried turning down the virtual sample nob in Serato DJ but even at minimum volume it was insanely loud. The phaser and flanger effects are unaffected but reverb and echo are unusable. HPF and LPF are also unaffected. Please Help!!!

The Scarlett line of audio interfaces are known to interfere with Pioneer DJ products. We recommend disconnecting them while using any DJ applications in conjunction with our controllers or mixers.
