Have you turned off wifi and Bluetooth? and what about Timemachine on Mac?
Hello, I have rekordbox on both my Mac and Windows laptops. I had to reinstall from scratch yesterday on the windows machine (Acer VX15 core i7 2.8ghz 16gb ram) as after the 5.4.2 update I started getting digital sound distortion when i would scratch samples on the decks.
I tried fresh installs 3 times, from format ssd to windows 10 to just rekordbox installed and the random pops are still there.
I also tried the solutions being posted on here by users having the same problems, disabling intel turbo boost by reducing max cpu to 99% in power management and I am still getting the pops.
This is on Windows 10 Home Single Language 1803.
On my old mid-2012 mac I am getting good clean sound.
How can I fix this? I have a gig tonight and I would really like to bring my windows laptop as it is newer and I bought it for this purpose.
Help me please, thank you.

Hi Adam, yes I have. And the issue is only on my windows laptop. The mac gives out good clean sound.
Update:
I've tried different buffer size settings using the DDJ1000 setting utility, from low to high, made sure to restart rekordbox every after each change but the random pops are still there.
BTW my gig went well last night using my old macbook pro, this laptop (acer vx15) was just used by my kid to play fortnite!)
Is there a place where I can download older versions of rekordbox just to test? Should I look for an older windows 10 installer? All I have now is version 1803.
I would really love to use this Acer VX15 with my DDJ1000 again.
I found the download link for the older RB versions, will test 2 of the recent ones now.
Tried versions 5.3.0 and 5.4.0, still getting the pops. I am really frustrated right now :(
I updated windows 10 1803 to version 1809, still the same. Pioneer I need your help please, thank you.

@Pulse
Thank you for the reply. I tried both solutions, the 99% cpu max setting and the regedit 00 00 00 00 setting.
I still get the same random popping noises in rekordbox and ddj1000. tried it both plugged and unplugged (the laptop to power source) and tested various buffer sizes.
I am now about to format my machine again and do a clean install using Windows 10 version 1709. I hope this addresses the issue, otherwise I might go crazy!
well. i cant seem to make the 1709 ISO bootable using rufus :( so im stuck with 1809.
OMG i was able to install 1709 and IT WORKS!!!
Microsoft messed up :( I disabled windows update permanently so I can enjoy rekordbox and ddj1000 with my acer vx15!
Hi Johnny, I am having the exact same issue and have tried everything suggested to me but going back to 1709 is the only thing I have not yet done. Is this a hard/technical process? If you had any links to any guide you used to do it I would greatly appreciate it, thanks!
Hi Shane, yes this last ditch effort worked for me after trying all other options.
You have to know how to install windows 10 from scratch, from finding the 1709 ISO, google can help you here, to using RUFUS to create a bootable USB stick which you will use to install windows and changing your bios boot settings to be able to select the USB with windows in it previously created with RUFUS to start the installation process.
Before all that make sure you backup all the files that you need to backup, specially the rekordbox library and all your tracks if it resides on the same hard drive on your PC.
Best to install this on a newly formatted hard drive to make sure everything is clean.
Also collect all the necessary device drivers specific to your laptop so you can install them after installing windows.
Once this is done you can then install rekordbox and the ddj1000 driver then connect to your controller and do a sound test. If all is well then you can now restore all your tracks to whichever hard drive it was before (better yet make sure you partition your HDD so you can separate your files from your OS partition, easier to maintain this way at least for me). Then restore your rekordbox library.
Install all other software that you might need and enjoy!
When everything is looking solid, google how to disable windows updates permanently so you will stay on 1709 until MS or P sort this issue out :)
Hi Johnny, thank you very much for taking the time to give this helpful infirmation, I really appreciate it.
Hope it helps you sort things out Shane, I feel your frustration. Let me know if you need further help.
