DDJ SB3 left deck going crazy

using a DDJ SB3, MacBook Pro (yosemite OS), Serato DJ pro

this controller is just over a month old.  

today i was on it and all of a sudden when i moved the crossfader over to the right my track in Deck one ejected, deck 3 came up on the screen, and i couldn't load any tracks to decks 1 or 3 or do anything with them.  I also couldn't load from the controller it self, hitting the load button caused the library order to change.  

i restarted serato: nothing. i restarted the computer and unplugged/ re plugged in controller: nothing.  I found the firm ware update downloaded it, restarted everything again, and more things started acting weird.

after the firmware update: it still did everything it did before but now the song one kept playing and just increased pitch.  i could now load a track into deck 3 but it wouldn't play and it showed it doing auto loop in a random part.  still couldn't load from the controller.  

any idea whats going on or what i should do? software issue, controller issue, little of both?
