DDJ range with Traktor Pro 3?

I’ve just started to get into Traktor Pro 3 and love the functionality
of it. I’ve been looking at controllers to use with it and particularly the Pioneer DDJ SR looks appealing to me and is within my price range. However from what I have read it only works out of the box with Serato software?

Can anyone confirm if there is a way for it to work with Traktor? Alternatively are there any other similar controllers that will work? Thanks

All DDJ units are effectively MIDI controllers and can work with Traktor, however you may have to map it yourself or find a 3rd party map for the hardware you choose.

I would suggest heading to YouTube and doing a search on any controllers you are interested in and Traktor.

That will help you to get some idea of how well they work with Traktor plus you will get a feel for what TSI files are out there for a particular controller.

I use to have a DDJ SR and now have a DDJ SX2, I used both with Serto, Rekordbox and Traktor.

Serato and Rekordbox both felt very comfortable but using them with Traktor just didn't feel as smooth and made me miss my S4 and D2s.

You might want to try and dedicated Traktor controller first to give you a proper reference to go by.

Thanks for the info, can Rekordbox be used like Traktor? Haven’t delved into it in any way?

Yes.

Basically all are capable it's just comes down to your preference and desired workflow.

They may have slightly different layouts or names for things but all are able to pretty much do the same type of stuff.
