Master channel duplicating into headphones

For some time now, I am having problems using rekordbox and ddj-400 controller.

While mixing (using controller functions) the sound stop playing for a couple of seconds and cuts back in again, but the headphones start acting as master channel while simultaneously sound comes out of speakers. When I cue music into headphones, the sound is very low and overwhelmed by master output.

I've tried various proposed fixes I found but nothing seems to work.

It has come to a point where I cannot practice at all due to this frustrating problem.

It could be a couple of things...

With the MASTER CUE enabled (arrow on the right), you'll be sending the master signal to the headphones.

With the channel cue enabled (either cue button in the middle, above the fader), you'll also be sending one or both channels (pre-fader) to the headphones.

Using the knob at the left, you can mix between the two sources (master cue / channel cue) in your headphones.

Try playing around with those functions to familiarize yourself with their operation.

As for the levels, it could simply be you don't have an appropriate gain structure (or the mix knob is turned)...

Adjust the channel trim so the chanel meter peaks at the first orange LED, and the master knob should typically be around the 2-3 o'clock position for the master level to match the channel.
