Power Strip for Mobile Dj with DDJ RR?

Surge Protected Power Strip for Mobile DJ?
Hi,

I’ve just got myself a DDJ RR controller to use with a laptop for mobile use. I’m looking for a power extension lead to plug in all my devices, such as laptop, controller, usb hub, and powered pa speakers once I have them. I’ve tried to search for any recommended ones and not really getting anywhere? I’ve read that some of them can eliminate hum which can be generated when using multiple power sources. Ideally I want to be able to fit the power lead at the back of my flight case so a power strip would be preferable?

I use store bought and then have them go into a computer surge protector that will trip if if receives to much power, got it at Fry's I think. The best set up would be to get a Furman so you can monitor the power/voltage and make sure all is good. Some models have lights built in and are rack mountable, but to be honest I have had 22 years of no issues with surge protectors in general. Do a google for results or follow this thread for the experiences of other DJs.... Good luck, you'll be fine with your decision.

Thanks again, another question is I want to have the surge protector strip at the back of my flight case with everything plugged into it. Is it ok to then plug the power strip into an extension reel to feed power to monitor/pa speakers? Or do I need another separate surge protector/ extension reel for that? Thanks
