You say it works AFTER you disable vinyl mode; is it possible that the unit senses that the jog is being pressed? Does the blue ring within the jog stay illuminated? Putting it into CDJ mode (vinyl mode disabled) allows it to play because it discards the touch information.
The fact that it works again after you reboot it tells me that it could be a static issue - you may want to check that the unit itself and any connected hardware is properly grounded.
If you've checked that and eliminated the possibility of grounding, it would be useful to get it on video to know what happened right before the issue occurs so we can pass it to the engineers.
