DDJ-1000SRT Stutter

I recently upgraded to the 1000srt after using the DDJ-SB2 and im having trouble with it. almost every time I'm mixing the audio is lagging and stuttering and slightly changing the pitch of the music... Ive messed with audio buffer settings in serato, uninstalled and reinstalled serato along with the drivers, changed USB cables, used different USB ports, It shows up in recordings as well which rules out a speaker issue. I don't think it is a software issue because when i play music through serato without the board connected there are no issues. I also was listening to music through spotify and had my laptop hooked up to my board via USB and had the sound going to channel 1 on the mixer and the stuttering was the worst it has every been (serato wasn't even open). I meet all of the system requirements specified on serato's website. The only thing I have found to help is when I unplug my laptop charger from the power source and run on battery, however, this only slightly fixes the problem and also isn't realistic for live performances to run on battery...

All of my findings leads me to believe this is a hardware issue but I have also reached out to Serato's support on the issue just to be safe.. Any advice on what to try next would be highly appreciated!!
