DDJ-SB3 no headphone output

I have a ddj-sb3. I bought it yesterday brand new. I can hear output coming from my speakers, however i can not hear the track in the headphones.  I have messed with the cue buttons, master button, headphone volume, all that. I am using a Macbook air and regular beats studio headphones being plugged in directly into the board.
