Add MIDI equipments to my DJ Set

Hi All,

I started to mix a year ago and I want now to bring it to the next level by being able to play keyboard and electronic drums and sing on top of my set.

I tried several options to try to connect my MIDI keyboard that the sound is played on the speakers connected to my DDJ.

I've tried the following without success:

- Connect the MIDI Keyboard to the same computer that is using Rekordbox

- Tried to connect my ipad controlling the sound of my keyboard to the DDJ through the second usb input

 

I've the following questions:

1) Do I need another computer for my Midi keyboard to connect it to the DDJ through the second USB input of my DDJ1000 ? 

2) Am I able to dedicate a channel specifically to the keyboard / drums and plug the keyboard through the RCA input ? 

Looking for some guidance about the various options that I could do to connect my equipments to the DDJ

Hey Mathieu,

I guess it would help to know what the intention is for using the MIDI keyboard with the software ... are you trying to use it to control rekordbox? Or does that keyboard have an audio output that you're looking to add to the mix? If it's only audio, you would just route that to one of the inputs on the DDJ-1000 (eg. CH3) and you could do the same for your drums (CH4) so you can control them independently and EQ / effect them as well.
