If the key was read in from the song metadata as classic, then that's how it was stored and won't change. You may try re-analysing the songs for KEY only and rekordbox will overwrite them.
So I've recently bought a DDJ 400, and when I try to change the key view from "classic" to "alphanumeric", it wont change in the display - it remains in the classic format even tho the box is checked on the alphanumeric. Its extremely weird since in the tutorials I have seen, the format changes as soon as you check the box. I need help on this.

Allright, so the first issue got fixed, I got the alphanumeric format now. But once I played a song, wasn't that suppoused to indicate (highlight) the tracks that match this song? Cause its not happening for some reason...
You have to enable it and select the source:

If it's set to MASTER and you don't have a deck playing (as Master), it will be blank. You could pick a deck number in that case. If it's not "clicked" to be blue (enabled), it just shows:
