DJM850/DJM900NXS2 PC setting utility conflict?

I was able to play from my laptop (Mixmeister S/W) into my 850 having set up the 850 setting utility on the laptop. I recently installed the 900NXS2 utility with what appear to be the same settings as that for the 850 but the 900NXS2 does not play the sound from the laptop. In fact when I press play on the Mixmeister transport the file doesn't even play.....it's not just that the sound doesn't come through the mixer.

The DJM850 still works fine if I retry that.

Is there some conflict with the 850 utility having some priority or hold over the laptop settings, it being the first DJM utility installed on the laptop?

Any ideas folks?

@Mark > There should be no problem in having both -- I have virtually every product driver and utility software installed on my computer for testing and I don't have any conflicts.

Did you ensure that the DJM900NXS2 was configured within the Mixmeister settings and that the bit depth and sample rate were correct within the software?

Hi, thanks for the reply.  Tried again with no luck.  I also tried playing sounds out of alternative pieces of software (Adobe Audition & WMP) and got a similar result.  In each of the three software packages tried, if I select PC speakers instead of DJM900NXS2, the sound plays out fine through the PC speakers.  But when DJM is selected, each of the three S/W do NOT play the file......not only does the sound not come through the mixer but the files do not even play in the respective bits of software.

I did note earlier that on the 900 ASIO setup tab in the utility 48kHz is selected, with 44.1 and 96 greyed out.  On the 850 utility (which works no problem) I note that 44.1 is selected.  Could this be the issue and if so why can't I change it to 44.1 in the 900 utility?  Do I need to disable some of the other devices in my sound card setting on the PC perhaps?  Could they be taking preference?

Please note however that I checked these sample rates without the PC connected to either mixer, and in the case of the 900 utility, after uninstalling/re-installing the drivers........just in case you think this may render what I'm telling you about apparent sample rate settings for the mixers irrelevant........

Update - I notice with the PC/mixer connected the ASIO tab on the 900 utility indicates that 44.1kHz is selected, so I think what I posted above may be irrelevant.  If these settings are only applicable to ASIO I'm not sure they're relevant anyway as I have WAV selected in Mixmeister, not ASIO.

Anyway, one thing I should mention is that my laptop is Windows 8.1 64bit - are we sure that the drivers are good for this?  I assume they are as they were released in Jan 2016 so I assume you would know of any issues and have rectified by now!!
