DJM900NXS2 Recordings into Logic

hi there, as the title says I record my sets into Logic Pro X however after bouncing i'm really disappointed with the overall sound quality and volume.

I have the latest drivers and have altered the software settings between -10db, -5db etc however i can't seem to get it right.

any ideas how I can get it right - essentially the recordings are too low

Regards

Paul

You might want to try a program like MP3gain if your bouncing down to mp3 format. You can increase the dB without having to go the usual mastering route.

Download the full version.

Hi SC I bounce into wav though then convert to 320 mp3. If you think it works good though then I'll take that although coming from a djm900 nod and Traktor it's not as good.

It works like how auto-gain works in Serato except the gain is applied to the file so any device or software playing will be affected. You can also remove the gain before exiting the program.

Just mess with the dB settings and clipping on or off to find what you feel works best for the kind of music you are mixing.

As a final step you can also throw that mp3 gained file into an editor like Audacity  and do some EQ tweaking if you feel the need to.
