I noticed DJM-900NXS2 shows a software MIDI INPUT on my laptop ...
What is the intended use for it?
Can route MIDI Clock or timecode to it to sync the EFX or can I control other parameters (for example the lights) of the mixer?
Sorry, but the DJM-900NSX2 MIDI is output only; there is confusion in the terminology of in/out based on where it's used (eg. OUT from the mixer, or IN to the computer).
See the MIDI manual here where it shows this is an input to the computer.

The mixer can send MIDI so as to control things from the surface of the mixer. You can program various knobs/faders/buttons to control thru MIDI.

I use Ableton DAW and DJM-900NXS2 as my soundcard. From Ableton I can send MIDI DATA _TO_ the DJM-900NXS2.
So My question is what kind of data should I send to the DJM-900NXS2 and what can I accomplish with it``

Only audio into mixer, MIDI is output only, so the Input probably refers to Input on the computer from the mixer.

Ableton clearly gives a possibility to SEND midi to the DJM-900NXS2. The hardware, the mixer CAN receive MIDI data ... but why?
Does the mixer relay the sent MIDI data to the physical output perhaps? That would be very convenient...
And yes, I understand that there is an output shown within Ableton, but it does that with every product regardless.
It would be extremely SMART if the outputs could be used for something. It actually would rise the value of this mixer.
