XdjR1 Freeze

What is the make/model of USB drive you're using at the time this happens? Have you tested with a different make/model USB drive?

Hi there i am using a 16gb scandisk usb flash and no i havent tried out another flash maybe i should..... Also what i have noticed is that when i have loaded my tracks into rekordbox onto the flash some of the tracks jumpes a queing point whne my tracj is qued up what could that be? And what i ment was about above was that when the controller freezez the track keeps on playing but it does not allow me to select the the next track to mix in the play and que button is like greyed out untill i reboot the controller.

so yes it stops working via button presses.

Does that happen with a different USB source or CD source?

I'm still testing with alternative usb......but the beat jump in the qued track do the same with all my usb drives syncing with rekordbox

cd source seems to be working fine....other then when controller stop/start button freezes

Sorry, I'm not sure I understand the issue you're having with regards to the beat jump... but let's try and work on the freezing issue first.

When you're testing to determine which of your drives cause this issue, can you let me know under which conditions this occurs? Eg. are you in a loop, do you have MT enabled, which pitch range, which deck, is wifi enabled -- any and every detail you can think of. If you replicate the same conditions with each USB drive, that helps to isolate if the issue is drive-related or something else. Thanks!

Hi.... i have replaced my usb and problem still accurs. it seems to be the right deck that stop responding while doing a set. sometimes when i hit the play button then it dont start.i make use of the affects echco and trim that it also freeze and most of the time i make use of the wifi so dunno if the wifi could lead to this matter.as i have also noticed is that remotebox flashes white on my iphone and time to time slow respones or non.when wifi is disabled the controller seems to perform for numbers of hours with no issues

is there an update for the remotebox app to fix bugs??

Okay so no reply from Pioneer.how frustrating this is after i purchased a product from Pioneer and this is the end support result i get from the Pioneer Support....rather considering selling all my Pioneer gear and move over to Denon gear.

I don't use any laptops with the R1 only make use of Rekordbox and Remotbox

Seems like when Remotebox is active then the R1 becomes unstable etc freezes , knobs don't respond , also quantise tracks are jumping a beat after cued up

Yes i have tested with no Remotebox and it seems to be working fine accept for quantise is on and i que up a track it still remain jumping a beat and not on the qued point....track was analysed thro Rekortbox

XDJ-R1 engineers tested using remotebox on iPad Air connected to XDJ-R1(Ver1.13) and played for 1 hour 30 min. yesterday and 6 hours today. They did not have any issues at all. 
As you did not have freeze when you used only XDJ-R1, there may be some communication issues between XDJ-R1 and iPhone where remotebox is running. 

Will you please select below settings on XDJ-R1.
[SECURITY]: Select ”WEP128”
[PASSWORD]: Set a password using 13 characters.

Hello, I’d like to chime in on this thread.. I’ve had my xdjr1 for about a year.

it a grat size, functionality is good with remotebox and nice crisp sound.

the only problem is I could not possibly  do a gig with this unit alone. It has crashed, frozen and just randmly ejected my HD so many times I’ve lost count.

i have used several different HD’s, every track has been analized in rekordbox and the result is the same. The track counter will stop and I have about 10 seconds before the freeze of all function and NO USB flashes on the screen. I thought 1.13 would help but unfortunately all it did was stop the high pitched noise, now it dies in silence.

most recent crash was Saturday night, in front of 250 people, luckily I have a back up player on stand by at all times so I can reboot and go again.

I have tested and retested tracks that it has crashed on all work perfectly after reboot.

Has crashed as early as the 2nd track into a gig, I have also done events 5 - 6 hrs long without hiccup. The randomness is the frustrating thing as I cannot recreate the crash/ freeze even when I play the same combination of tracks together. 

I have used it with and without remotebox and have seen crashes with both.

this is my 2nd xdjr1 I returned the first due to the freezing and high pitched noise. 

im still holding out hope for a fix all update.

Hi Pioneer any updates as to this issue we having it has been several months later now and i still experiencing the same problem on the R1 Most of my freezing normally starts where my echo is enable and i playing around with the trim at the same time freezing does appear but not always it happens intermittently on different occasions.i have changed usb drives and ipads , also having the same problem where my apple mac is connected via rekordbox dj where the play button don't response.please advice at soonest.Robin

Thank you for sharing what youre all experiencing and for the Pioneer crew for keeping the post up to date. 

I was able to resolve this issue where the unit is freezing with that horn sound.  Sounds like the echo effect at 1/600 or something intense like that. 

I updated all of the following:

macbook air to MacOS High Sierra

Rekordbox to Version 5.3.0

the R1 to version 1.13.  

iphone to ios 11.4

Ive played on my system multiple times for up to an hour each time and there havent been any issues.  The sound quality has improved actually as I use .aiff mostly but some .mpg files too.  All tracks were downloaded from Beatport. 

I keep a close eye on the itunes .xml file share and itunes settings.  I keep soundcheck turned off within itunes settings and delete duplicates.  I uncheck copy files to itunes within itunes preferences until its time to add more music.  It was a 99% perspiration fix Id say...
