Which firmware version are you using?
When the emergency loop occurs, is it on the player which has the USB drive connected directly or is it a linked player?
Hi,
I have 4 CDJ2K-NXS2 players who all go randomly in emergency loop when playing tracks in continu mode from an USB key. I have the issue with all my USB keys of different brands. I never had this issue with my older CDJ2000NXS players.
The NXS2 player is used as stand-alone with no link to laptop or another player. It is always a different track that randomly goes into emergency loop. I have to stop or go to the next track to get out of the loop. It is never the same track that has this problem, so it is not related to a certain mp3 file or usb key.
This is problematic and makes the NXS2 unreliable. I could not find a solution in previous posts. Please advise.

Hi,
I'm using the latest firmware 1.71
It happens when the player is used stand-alone with a USB key (not linked)
Can you tell me the make / model of the USB drive(s) on which this has occurred?
Are you able to replicate the issue consistently with specific tracks?
Which version of rekordbox was used to analyse the tracks used when it goes into emergency loop (was it prior to 4.2.5)?
Which version of rekordbox was used to export to the device?
Have you tried formatting the USB drive and re-exporting tracks?
I do live concerts and tape acts. I have 2 USB keys for playing background music during changeover (DataTraveler 64GB, Patriot Rage XT 16GB)
I use them maybe for 5 years with the CDJ 2000 and CDJ 2000 Nexus without any problem. With the new Nexus2 set I have random emergency loop problems. When you play tracks in continuous mode, it happens sometimes 4x per hour. Always with a different track. I can not reproduce the problem with those tracks when I replay them again. The stick was not analysed or exported with recordbox. I could do it for my own USB keys to see if it helps, but I just want a reliable solution when a guest walks in and asks to play a track from his USB key. Never had an issue with that when using the 2K and 2KN
@Carlo > Thanks for the detail - I actually have a Patriot Rage XT (32GB) here, so I'll give that a try, and it's also good to know they're not exported from rekordbox. I'll see if I can replicate it here. What filesystem is your Rage XT? FAT32 or HFS+?
both are MS-DOS FAT 32
Thanks - I'll give that a whirl and see if I can replicate it.
Is there any update on this folks?
I recently bought an XDJ 700 to play around with and see if it is something I could work with. The very same issue occurs with me on 2x different USB sticks.
Lexar 128GB and a generic brand at 32GB both FAT32
Unit firmware: 1.12
Rekordbox V5.02 but this problem started and continues since v5.0.
It is seriously quite alarming. Dee dee dee BOOM...emergency loop, rendering the machine essentially useless.
Sorry @Finn, after my last post, I ran my USB drive (which matched @Carlo's unit) for about 4 days straight and never once did it enter an emergency loop on the host player or a linked player.
When it happens for you, is there any other error message on screen? Are you able to load another track to either the host or linked player? (You may need to press and hold BACK to exit the emergency loop screen.)
The current firmware is 1.13, but there are no fixes related specifically to an emergency loop.
Hi there,
Thanks for your speedy reply. Nope the only solution is to stop the USB and then extract and reinsert the actual key. Pressing the BACK key does nothing. I just get a 'wait' circle on the XDJ display.
I'll update the firmware this evening and try a new USB key that I have.
Just to note, I am using a single XDJ-700 not linked to my laptop.
Cheers
Just a quick interim update here for those who care!
I got a Patriot Rage 32GB USB and used that and over say 3 or 4 hours I got no emergency loops.
So far, I'll just then blame the crappy USB sticks I was using. Although one was Lexar. Nevertheless it seems okay now.
Thanks all
FYI: Lexar also makes some low quality junk, just like SanDisk.
