Is this to cover your master output as digital?
Hi Folks, OK I have 2 x XDJ1000 Mk2's and am looking to get the DJM900NXS2 thus completing my digital in/out setup. However, I record my mixes to PC using a Steinberg UR22 Audio Interface which only has analogue inputs. Can anyone here suggest a good Audio Interface which has a Digital Input?
Thanks

i can recommend a native Instruments komplete Audio 6 with ist spdif in.
but you dont Need an extra audiointerface since the djm has an integrated soundcard. just plug into one of the usb ports and choose the right channel in the Driver Setup and record :-) it's quite easy. i think you could even record over the fx in out usb fully digital on a Handy/tablet for example.
Hmm, that is interesting. However, I need the interface as an output for my computer to my active Mackie's. I produce music on my PC, whereas my deck set up is independent of my PC (running through an amp and speakers). I only hook my decks up when I am recording a mix. I had a look at the Audio 6 and is probably what I am after.
To answer Jay's question, yes, the master output would be digital, running to my PC. I would also output to my amp (analogue) for my dj'ing monitors.
Keep in Mind that the djms spdif Out is Not intended to be a record output since it depends on the master Volume knob/Meter. A true record output Provider you a fixed audio Level. Its ok to record when you found a proper and fixed setting in your master :-) but Not optimal.
Yes, of course, my levels would be set and then record digital. As long as my levels are low and not clipping I can increase the level in Wavelab once it has recorded. As it is digital the output can be set really low and I can then increase to 0dB in wavelab with no hissing, artifacts etc.The whole reason I want it is so I can alter FLAC BPM's on my XDJ and then record these files as FLAC on my PC. If I do it with my analog setup I am losing some quality doing this.
