There could be an issue with the jog itself, as you note it reacts the same way in different software. Please contact Pioneer DJ technical support in your region to have the unit inspected and/or serviced.
Hello,
I have the DDJ SX2 and it doesn't allow me to scratch when in vinyl mode in Seratodj or in Rekordbox. it will play the song and when you touch the platter to bring it back on either side it just slows down the song a little. No matter how many times I press (shift + Vinyl) it still won't scratch in any program. Please advise on next steps as this $1,000 piece of equipment is now an expensive paper weight. By the way I also own the DDJ SR, DDJ WEGO4, 2-PLX 1000'S, Denon MC4000, and TRAKTOR S4, and don't have these issues with the other controllers and turntables.

Follow-up question tho... does it do the same thing when you're on the other deck mode? Eg. It doesn't work on deck 1, does it work on deck 3?
Hello I’m now experiencing the issue with other gear so it must be a SeratoDJ issue. I own the Denon MC4000, Pioneer DDJ SX2 & Pioneer DDJ SR and I have ensured that they are in vinyl mode and I have tried the lasted Serato update and the previous version. I have also tried this on Windows 7, MacOS Sierra, and MacOS HIgh Sierra. I have also made sure that the firmware in the controllers is updated. With all of this done SeratoDJ still won’t allow me to scratch a song on either platter. I have literally no control of the song after I press play. Backspinning the platter only slows the song down a very little bit. The hot cues work but I can’t scracth or control the song using any of these controllers. I have a Apple Macbookpro - MacOS Sierra, Mac Mini - MacOS High Sierra and HP - Windows 7. Serato works fine with my SL2 box but doesn’t work with my controllers. I also own a DDJ WEGO4 and works fine with Rekordbox. I’m not sure why the DDJ SX2 isn’t allowing me to scratch in Rekordbox. Who knows it could be MacOS Sierra.
The scratch function / vinyl mode is still not working on the DDJ SR and the DDJ SX2. I’m not sure if it’s a Serato issue or hardware issue and at this point I’m ready to get rid of them both. If you send me a email address I could send you a video of the controllers not working after pressing shift + vinyl.

I have yet to get a response from my two previous videos that you asked me to send you. Here’s another YouTube video showing this malfunction of the controller. I will be calling for an RMA number so you guys can pay for this to get serviced. Unless you are aware of the issue and plan on fixing it in an software update. https://youtu.be/WIuzwJQnnh0
Out of curiosity, if you touch the controller anywhere (not lifting it, just touching the face of the controller), does it work properly then?
I tried that too and it’s still not working correctly.
Sorry, our team doesn't know why that might be happening - please send it to service as instructed in the official response above.
