@Paul > What exactly do you mean by "poor quality" ?
And you say they're poor "once bounced down to 320mp3" -- is the original recording better?
Hi all,
any support appreciated in trying to get my dj mixes recordings better quality. I have a NXS2 set up CDJ's and DJM and they connect via Pro DJ link and USB into an iMac computer 2014 version.
Essentially there aren't many set ups that could be more expensive yet the recordings coming from the sound card are poor quality once bounced down to 320mp3.
I've tried multiple recording options - Traktor, Logic, Ableton and now Rekordbox but all are disappointing.
I have the latest driver installed and keep my master levels at 0db and I've adjusted the USB output settings but its can't seem to get a sweetspot.
this is really annoying, money can't buy a more expensive setup yet do I have to fork out for a portable recorder to improve things !!!
any guidance appreciated
Paul

hey Pulse, thanks for responding.
I've just been testing this and generally there is little degradation between the WAV and MP3 versions that are downloaded to iTunes. when playing them alongside the original file in Logic the same applies. It seems to occur when placing the file onto my phone or USB drive to play in car with the outcome being that the recording is very quiet in comparison to the original louder files on the computer.
Talking myself out of this being sound card related I guess but any pointers would be appreciated

Do you mean that a mix you've recorded while using the DJM as the audio interface (to do the recording back into your computer) is what's quiet in comparison to the original songs you were playing during the mix?
Hi Pulse,
no more simple than that when playing the recordings on my computer they sound okay quite loud with energy but when transferred into other devices (iPhone, sd card, USB) they become dull, lifeless and quiet.
Is the "recording" you're making reference to, a file you made by recording the audio from the mixer? You're not exactly making it clear as to what you're listening to!
hey hi i have issue
