FolgenRecording mix with DJM-900 nexus2 and rekordbox performance mode
Hi,
I have two CDJ2000's, a DJM-900 nexus2 mixer, and a macbook pro. I have the CDJ's and mixer connected through link. My computer is connected to the mixer through the USB port. I use rekordbox performance mode to DJ. Could someone walk me though the best method of recording my mix? Do I need to use the record out on the mixer connected to an RCA to stereo jack adapter OR is there signal going back through the USB cable from the mixer to my computer that I can record with audacity? Also, I use abelton suite quite a bit, could I just record with that instead? Wouldn't that be better quality that audacity? Lastly, to keep things simple, is there a way to just record a high quality mix with rekordbox performance mode? Thanks for your help
James

Thanks I figured it out. I simply just recorded the mix without any additional cables, just the USB connected to my computer. I set it to master out and hit record and it worked. I think pioneer needs to have better tutorials for this stuff for the amount of money that it charges for it to be honest
Am I right in saying that when CDJs are connected in Link via USB, then the On Air jog rings don't display?
I downloaded and installed the DJM driver to connect CDJs and DJM with a single USB cable to clear up some cable & socket space but I don't get the red jog rings anymore.
@Shaun > No, OnAir works just fine, but you have to connect the CDJ with the USB cable, not the DJM. Just tested this myself to verify.
@Pulse > You mean directly from CDJs to PC/Mac?
Would using a non-mains powered USB hub work?
CDJ1 > CDJ2 > DJM --------> USB Hub --------> PC/Mac
But even so, I'm probably best sticking with my LAN setup.
One of the CDJs connected directly to the computer via USB, the other units all connected to each-other via an ethernet hub. The one CDJ connected directly acts as a "network device" and translates the USB signal over the ProDJ Link.
You could connect everything via LAN as well, but this saves for the users on newer MacBook Pro's which don't have ethernet ports onboard.
Hello Folks, Im wondering if I have a mid 2012 macbook pro, which is a great laptop I used for years and years, with rekordbox dj on the laptop used in performance mode, can I connect a djm-900 nexus 2 through USB to the laptop and use it normally?
Will I have to map the djm900 to rekordbox dj to use it or is it without CDJs?
Thank you All!
