Rekordbox Will NOT Open

So i've just bought a new laptop, 'MSI GE62VR 7RF'.

Intel core i7HQ

16GB RAM

Windows 10.

Downloaded rekordbox last night and entered my key etc etc and all was perfect, i started to import my music but got too tired and decided to go to bed. I closed rekordbox and shutdown the laptop for today. When booting up today i tried to open RB and it refused to open, the box 'Reading tracks' comes up and then goes straight off after a second or so, i tried to uninstall and reinstall with no luck.

After messing around for a good 2 hours i decided to completely re install windows 10 again while there isn't anything on the laptop yet and its only a day old. After reinstalling windows i downloaded rekordbox and tried to open it, it opened up fine and asked for my email and password. After entering them both it said 'sucessful' and then the 'reading tracks' box came up and went straight back off. Now, it will come on at all, its a brand new laptop and completely over the specs, everything else is working fine besides RB.

I've also tried running RB 4.50 and that does exactly the same, i'm really really frustrated here, can somebody please give me some information!?

@dayne > Sounds like you broke your database! It may have been that rekordbox hadn't fully terminated before you shut down, or there was some other process which was interrupted.

To remedy the situation, the best bet will be to start from scratch and start re-importing everything (as it sounds like it was all newly imported anyhow).

With rekordbox closed, open your Explorer and go here:

C:\Users\<yourusername>\AppData\Roaming\Pioneer\rekordbox

Rename datafile.edb to datafile.edb.old

Restart rekordbox and it should be blank and working. Try importing a folder or two worth of tracks to see if that goes well.

@pulse I've already done that, i followed your FAQ page before i posted on the forums like you ask, i've also renamed them all to .old as the next screen says but it is still doing the same thing. I've got a gig tomorrow as well so i'm desperate for this fix man, thanks.

Try this - completely rename that entire rekordbox settings directory - rekordbox.old and run the installer again. It should rebuild the entire set preferences and settings files as well as the database.

@pulse No luck, still the same error, just out of curiosity i'm running the build 1703. Now i know there was alot of bugs when 1703 was released, is RB affected by this build? if so, 1709 is now available is RB compatible with 1709?.

I had the same issue, with the same laptop - I disabled all the MSI applications (like Dragon Center, the Wireless killer app etc etc) and now rekordbox opens - I don't think it likes one of these - I didn't bother to check which one in particular yet though. I believe one of them is considered an overclocking app which RB doesn't like

Hope this helps

I have the same problem and it just start's with reading tracks, and then it won't open the app.
