DJM-T1 / Traktor 2 Audio Input Issue

Mac OS X 10.7 Lion

DJM-T1 Setting Utility v1.00

Traktor Pro 2 v2.03

In the audio input & output prefs in Traktor there's a massive spike appearing every 5 secs or so (see attached). It shows no input except the spike, but you can hear the audio coming through the mixer as normal. It does add the spike to the recording channels 5/6 too.

The DJM-T1 Setting utility looks fine except the "About" page which says "There is a problem with the driver configurations. Please reinstall the drivers". I've reinstalled 3 times & used the uninstall utility, but this prevails.

None of these problems when running Traktor S4 or Denon DN X-600, so wonder if this is a "Lion" v "Setting Utility" issue.

Cheers

Keith

@Brandon > Nothing set in stone, but Pioneer hopes to have the update created, tested, and released sometime this month.

Your patience is appreciated. :)

I have downloaded the new drivers yet i cannot internally record a set in traktor. The problem is that it records both decks even when the volume is down or cross faded out. Its like trakor doesn't recognise the the T1 mixer when recording. Which is disappointing as it was designed specifically for tractor and why we all paid over the odds for it.

what can i do?

@Joe > Do you have your recorder set to internal or external?

Joe, guys are using external mixing mode while your mix recorder is set to internal.

You need to change you recording to external mode, connect a lead from the REC (or booth) out of the back of your mixer into a free input on your soundcard.

Then you need to set the recorder in external mode to use this input.

Hmmm, I seem to think you should just bypass using another cable to connect to another sound card, when you can just use the built in sound card to record from. It's an 8 in / 8 out and should be able to do the job itself shouldn't it?

Thanks for the response. i understand how to set up the internal external modes in settings. what my problem is, is that the T1 has a build in sound card and there for should be capable of recording internally through traktor. I will need to buy a new sound card and external recorder if this is not the case. THe reason i bought the T1 in the first place was to save space and money on these items as the T1 promised to be an 'all in one' with integrated sound card designed with NI. .

Mazurek, THis is exactly what i am experiencing however, i do not believe i need to use a external recorder as i am using a specialised integrated mixer.

i look forward to your responses.

P.S. sorry for cross posting.

Joe, do not buy yet.

Pulse, how to use the REC OUT in MIXER OUTPUT settings ?

I won't. This is on the pioneer website about the T1.

"Internal USB soundcard let DJs easily record sets

The onboard USB soundcard eliminates the need for an external soundcard, so DJs can connect the mixer straight to a computer with a single USB cable. That means recording live or practice sets is a breeze, as the included audio interface enables output signal switching to suit the activity, whether that is DJing, recording or producing music."

You simply assign the REC OUT from the mixer's soundcard to the recording input within the software.

Mix Recorder

Source

▪Source: Choose Internal to record from TRAKTOR’s internal Master output or choose External to record an external audio source like a turntable, microphone, or from your external hardware mixer.

▪External Input: Select which input channel TRAKTOR will record external audio. The drop-down menu offers the following options:

◦Deck A

◦Deck B

◦Deck C

◦Deck D

◦Input FX Send (Ext.)

Pulse, how to configure djm-t1 and how to configure **software ?**

Sorry, it wasn't labeled "REC OUT", I was thinking of the 900nexus... but you get the picture from the pictures above.

Great! Working now. I just assumed it would be internal source.

Cheers guys!

Unfortunately I still cannot record using the provided steps & settings. In my Traktor preferences it doens't show the FX Send option at input and output routing (see screenshots in attach). Am I doing something wrong?

Am running Traktor version 2.1.2 and the latest firmware on the DJM T1 (2.0)

Thanks for the help btw, much appreciated :)

This is very strange that you don't have FX send option at input and output routing. I'm using 2.0.3 and I have it.

@Franklin > Have you run the Setup Wizard?  Button is at the bottom of the preferences window or on the Help menu.

HI me again!

I have just upgraded from A DJM T1 to a DJM 900 Nexus. I out grew the 2 channel and went for the 4 channel mixer.

However, i'm having the same problem getting the traktor mix recorder to work with this mixer. I have followed the above instructions.

Could you please do the same and post screen grabs of how the Nexus preferences should be set to work with traktor mixer. Thank you.
