So I posted a how to guide for windows on routing audio into ableton then back into the mixer. By doing this it also fixed the record feature over usb. I am now recording over the USB with no crackle sound, or sound that hears like its from a distant room.

@Robert > I'm not doubting that you may have fixed the issue for recording, however the crackle issue is intermittent -- on my first several attempts to replicate the issue here, I was unable to get any crackling. Even once I was able to get it to do the crackling, it wouldn't happen every time. So users will still be advised to update their drivers when the next version is issued.
I totally agree. I just posted a work around till those drivers amerge. I just personally like to provide to the comunities I am part of. My problem that i was having was when ever I tried to record from the soundcard it sounded like it was being played in a large room. almost like I was hearing music from far away. By rerouting it it fixed my issue. I am no longer recording through Master Out 2 RCA and into a mini jack. Now I use ableton to record my stuff as it should have been from the start. As an engineer I am used to doing stuff like this so I have no complaints. =)
