What I should of added also was - can the bpm from the master of the djm be sent to ableton no matter what channel the efx selector is at.
Hi,
I've tried a couple of times syncing ableton with my djm900 and everything works fine. But is there any way of keeping the midi signal constant for example. If I playing a track on channel 2 from my cdj and the effect selector is assigned to channel 2 the sync works fine. But what if I want to assign efx to channel 3 but only want to drop certain parts of that track so not having the cdj playing, the mixer then cannot pick up the bpm correctly and then sends and incorrect signal to ableton and it goes out of sync with the track which is still playing on channel 2. Hope this makes sense.

Yes; simply take the mixer out of AUTO mode by pressing the TAP button once or the AUTO/TAP button... that will "lock" the tempo regardless of which channel is selected.
I've done that before but as the BPM within Ableton fluctuates, after 30 sec or so it will be out of sync with the track playing. I've never really used Ableton in my dj setup before. Can something on the djm be mapped out to nudge the clips in ableton
This is known, and there are two solutions -- first is assigning the nudge buttons to a MIDI control, the other is to adjust the pitch on your players.
