As long as you are not using timecode, you will be fine.
Hi,
I have a gig this weekend and i have been told the Club mixer is a DJM 2000. This will be my first time using one. I have read that there are issues regarding the amount of channels allocated to the soundcard. However, i'm confused to understand if this effects my set up...
Basically i will only be using 4 Traktor decks connected via the USB into the DJM 2000. Will this work??? or do i need to connect via an external audio 4/8 soundcard?
Thanks
Joe

Can you explain what you mean by timecode? i'm not familiar....is this when you use Vinyl?
I will only be using MP3 or WAV.
Yes timecode is when you use vinyl or CDs with Traktor or Serato...
By the sounds of things, you should be fine...
Here's my suggestion to you...Not sure where you reside and assume you can not go to the club before your gig...
Go to a music shop that has the 2000...Take your laptop and just connect and test your setting so you feel better. I know in Canada, Long 'n' MqQuade is always cool with people playing around in the store (as long as you tell them what you're up to), but i know you will not have any issues with your setup.
Hope that helps.
Hello,
Yes I already use this system its super simple, ditch the time codes ya don't need em'. But you do need to do some messing with traktor to set up. I would give it a week of messing around to get it right before you try it out, it was embarrassing when it all fell over and you dont know what to do to fix it. with a dance floor full of people. oops! Try it at home first take the safe option for your gig.
I have a nexus 900 at home which is also a simple set up. But yes, i will go to my local DJ store and check my settings before the gig.
Thank you both for your help.
