Advantages of traktor certified mixer (850/900) with hid cdj 2000s

Could someone help and explain to me what advantages the mixers give you with cdj 2000s using traktor 2 in hid?

I can see the advantage for time code by not needing a sound card , but not for hid...

Am I mistaken in thinking that the traktor certified djms are plug and play and can control traktors internal 'onscreen mixer' ie channel faders and eq knobs, or is that only through midi mapping?

I am not a Traktor user, but from what I understand the only benefit of a Traktor Certified mixer is the ability to use timecode without a Traktor Sound Card.

Now that HID has been implemented, timecode is obsolete.   (Unless you still want vinyl timecode)

But there is no reason to use CD timecode anymore if you have a CDJ-2000.  Adv HID > timecode.

Is there no plug and play mode then as such with the djm 850/900 that when you plug it in via USB that it automatically controls the traktor internal mixer ie channel faders and eq knobs? Does this have to be done via midi just?

There is no preconfigured MIDI-mapping of the mixer because the Pioneer mixers are always "audio first"; so while the MID knob on CH2 could be assigned to manipulate the effects parameter within Traktor, any audio going through CH2 will have the mid frequencies affected when you start turning that knob.
