FolgenDJM-2000 stopped working!!
I was going through my music library (not Rekordbox) and had my DJM 2000 connected to a MacBook Pro via USB. I walked out of the room for 2 minutes and cam back to a loud tone sound. All knobs, buttons, and effects were unresponsive except for the master gain. I tried to restart the mixer and the live sampler/Utility button will flash fora minute or more before powering on. After powering on, nothing works and all 4 channels and the master levels will clip randomly with no audio signal going into it.
I am unable to boot in firmware update mode as well. Please help I have a wedding this weekend of course!

Everyone is busy working on the new firmware we are never going to have. I would call tech support. Number is at the top right of this page.
Cheers
@Eddie > Are you getting any error codes displayed during power up? In what way is the unit now affected?
No error codes the LCD screen looks like it gets power but stays black. The Live sample/utility button will blink and the unit will not get past that. Seems like a short of some sort
@john> Tech support? Everyone I spoke to didn't even offer to trouble shoot, only referred me to the website to file a warranty claim. I'm disappointed with every aspect of this situation. The fact that a 3 month old, professional grade unit with less than 24 hours of use is malfunctioning and I have to ship the unit directly to Pio & hope my warranty covers the issue.
@Eddie > This is weird, I'm not sure why this would have happened. Was there possibly a brief power outage? Where are you located? Is the power stable / consistent?
Definitely wasn't a power surge or outage. I run my speakers on a different breaker to be sure they don't draw too much power away from powering the equipment. I live in NY but not close to the service centers. I did call two of them but they had no idea what they were talking about and didn't trust them servicing the DJM-2000.
@Eddie > Ok, I'm going to ask the engineers what they think might be wrong. I'll be in touch.
Thanks Gavin I appreciate it. I'll be sending it out within a couple of days. I will take some video of the problem before I ship it. Do I send the power cord with the unit? I forgot to ask customer service.
@Eddie > Is the unit still within warranty? If so, I would say send it to an authorised service centre. If not, hang on and I'll hear what the engineers have to say. Yes, please send the power cord too.
Yes it is within warranty. I received a Long Beach CA address from customer service. Is this the Pioneer service center? If so, I'd rather send it there than the independent service centers I spoke to over the phone.
Yes, this is Pioneer's official headquarters in the US.
Ok i will hang onto it until the engineers respond. Let me know if they would like to see video of the issue. Thanks again Gavin
Eddie I am sorry for your situation. I feel your pain! Pioneer's customer service is not one of the best I've come accross (and I don't mean that as a bash; just stating a fact based on personal experiance).
I hope you get your issue resolved in a way that it doesn't effect you badly.
Cheers
Thanks John, at least Gavin wants to help!
ya the Mods here are great, the issue is they have no support from Pioneer.
@Eddie > Got a response from the engineers last night:
Judging from the symptoms he described, the internal power supply seems to cause the problem.
The flashing LIVE SAMPLER button indicates this.
Any operation including firmware updating would not be properly performed in this situation.
He needs to send the unit to the service center to fix the problem.
I guess this just confirms what I initially thought - please go ahead and send the unit to Long Beach.
Thanks again Gavin. I appreciate your help troubleshooting my issue! Is there anyone I can contact to praise your customer service?
Hey Gavin juts wanted to let you know they replaced the "Main Control Assembly" on the DJM. My stomach is in knots every time i power up my unit but everything is working fine now. They had the mixer repaired and shipped in 3 days so I'm definitely impressed with the Pioneer repair center
I'm impressed that you got it fixed so quickly. Congratulations to you Eddie and good job Pioneer !
Have you managed to play on the wedding you mentioned ?
@greg Sorry for the delayed response!
I am very impressed with Pioneer with the repair time. Very pleasantly surprised!
I did play the wedding... with the Numark M6 mixer unfortunately. The sound quality was terrible but it got the job done. I had my 2 CDJ-2000's linked and with my external HD so I was able to use my Rekordbox playlists & cues at least. It's amazing listening to the sound quality difference of the mixers side by side.
@Eddie > Hey thats great - I'm glad everything was fixed so quickly and you are happy with the level of service - I appreciate the comments.
I'm glad you got through the wedding ok and I certainly hope (and doubt) this issue should crop up for you again.
@Gavin I have the same problem with my DJM-2000 canyou help me? Who can I call or where can I get support?
