No Fader Start for DJM900Nexus + CDJ2000Nexus?

Hi. I cannot get fader start to work in Record Box 2.01, with CDJ 2000 Nexus running firmware 1.02, DJM900 running firmware 1.26.

I have the cdjs connected to channels 2 and 3, and have set their IDs to 2 and 3 respectively, with fader start for channels 2 and 3 lit up on the mixer.

Any ideas? does fader start NOT work with Recordbox? i have not yet tried it with "link"

I should also add that I have the Mixer on MIDI Channel 1, the CDJ with ID2 to MIDI Channel 2, and the CDJ with ID3 to MIDI channel 3.

The CDJs, Laptop and Mixer are connected via LAN cables to a gigabit switch, the mixer and CDJs are also connected to the laptop via USB. Running Mac OSX 10.7.5

I've also attached a file showing the mixer and cdj communicating properly. Fader is UP, CDJ "on air" feature turns the jog wheel red, while the fader start 2 and 3 are ON (glowing)

your djm900nexus needs to be set up for it to work... enter user mode and look for 'fader start' toggle this to 'on' and fader start will work! Page 23 user manual! Or Trouble Shooting page 24 ;)

Hold down utility button for 1 second for the display to change - use the beat < > buttons to scroll thru the options... basically page 23 will guid you through!

Matt, thanks, I already had the Nexus FaderStart feature turned on on the mixer. I doin't think the Nexus CDJs support it (yet).

Why do you need it to start in rekordbox?  Isn't rekord box used to classify and search for music files stored on your computer and create playlists used for DJ performance.  To detect, measure and adjust the beats, tempos (BPM) and other elements of your music files prior to performance.  To set and store point information (for cueing, looping, hot cueing, etc.) prior to performance.only to oganize your music

You need to link your pruducts with LAN cables.  Look on page 14 and page 15 in the DJM-900 nexus mixer user's manual; it is right there.

fader start works fine on mine, you are doing something wrong, please delete one of your threads, you now have 2 threads going on the same issue

Eduardo, I need fader start in RekordBox because at the Studio I don't want to transfer lists to USB and then to CDJ. Instead, having the laptop plugged in I can get my whole library onto the CDJs without messing around with USB sticks.

Bri, does it work when you are connected using the Rekordbox Option on the Nexus?

Yes, used an sd card to test and then linked my laptop also to test, both worked perfect.... Can you shoot a quick video and show everything you are doing, loading track, settings, etc....? Maybe there is something small you are missing that we can pick up on
