Could someone in authority tell me what the difference is between the djm2000 Mk1 and the Djm2000 Nexus and why the cost is appx £300 more than the MK1?
Are there internal elements that we dont know about?
it doesn't make sense at this point as i cannot see a difference?

Well, there's some nicer buttons and knobs
There's a limiter for people who think red is good - that may be hardware, but limiters can of course be software implemented as well
It says high-durability fader... not really sure what the difference on these are
The DJM 2000 Nexus is 5mm smaller
All I could really find that would be different... maybe a slightly better sound card too but I have no idea on that
in my opinion if you have already the djm 2000 then the nexus is not worth it but if you have an older djm such as the 800 and lower then the nexus is for you if for some reason you don't like the djm 900. Either way wait till the nexus is out for a couple months before purchasing to see what others have to say about any glitches or problems.
Main differences is the beat slicer, master tempo sync option and thats it, they say it has better sound and faders but I don't think it much of a differences to waist money if you have a djm 900 or 2000 mk1 already.
Master Tempo and Beat Slicer are going to be given to the DJM 2000 as well - as Pioneer has told us - basically we get all the same touch screen effects

Apologies as I know you want a response from a Pioneer rep but I have to say this to the rest...
The 2000nxs is the new 2000. Meaning if someone wants a 2000 mixer (new) 6 months from now, the choice is a Nexus only. No having said that, to us current owners of the original 2000, the upgrade may not be or seem logical but the production of the 2000nxs is for the future in pioneers perspective. Much like the CDJ2000 vs the CDJ 2000nxs. To owners of the original CDJ2000, the upgrade at this time is not worth the $ (generally speaking here).
As for a detailed explanation of the differences, I agree there seems to be a lack of info available to us at this time and with the mixer shipping now, I'm not really sure why that would be so I look forward to a list of those differences too.
