Have you try'd out the djm 2000 mk1?  It is essentially the same as the 2000 nexus except for the new beat slicer and master tempo syncing.  If you have not tried either the 900 nexus or 2000 mk1 or the new 2000 nexus I suggest you go to a place like Guitar Center where you would be able to see for your self.  As far as my opinion I say if price is not of importants go with the djm 2000 nexus,  if price is an issue than I say the 900 nexus.

If you where to purchase the djm 2000 nexus you have pretty much all the beat effects on the 900 nexus except for the spiral and melodic which to be honest the only one you are going to miss is the spiral which is a awesome effect, melodic was a failed attempt trust me.  As far as color effects and or instant effects if you where to go with the djm 2000 nexus you would be missing the space effect and dub echo which is on the 900.  These effects especially the space color effect is awesome to use when needing another option to take the place of echo.  Now vise versa if you where to get the 900 nexus you won't be able to use the new beatslicer or use the frequency mix option.  Also the djm 2000 nexus effects allow the user to use the beat effects and only effect certain parts of the track for instance if you only want the highs effected this mixer would allow this or just the mids or lows only ect.. While the 900 nexus is a great mixer I purchased it because I got a great deal on it.  Such a good deal that the few extra features the original djm 2000 had to offer did not justify the price jump.  So if money is not an option go with the 2000 nexus you will only miss the space, spiral and x pad is such a great feature.  But if you want to save your self a few hundred dollars you won't really miss what the djm 2000 nexus has to offer over the djm 900.  Regardless I do recommend you try it out yourself if you can.

I had the 900; sold it for a 2000 and am going to part with the 2000 again to go back to the 900.

If you are a software user, know that the 2000 will not allow time code use with its built in sound card.

I love the 2000 but a very big issue for me became the size. I got tired of hauling it around. Also I was simply not utilizing the middle section that much (partly because the music I played and other reason was due to the high output level of the side chain section; which is said to be addressed in the new firmware). The frequency mix section is neat but wasn't really practical for my use, not for every transition or mix in other words.

I say 900 as its cheaper and offers as much of the essentials that the 2000 offers plus a more capable internal sound card.

Good luck

One other important thing I forgot to mention is if you own the CDJ2000 series, the DJM2000 offers a lot of pairing options. You can look in to these options here and on YouTube.

DJM 900:  better soundcard, compact and based on "industry standard DJM 800", better price, 2x mic (+ effect to voice, robot and pitch), some differencies in effects

DJM 2000: dedicated buttons for effect, much bigger effect controlling, more effect possibilities, Isolators on effects/master, Midi touchscreen, BPM center, Live sampler, new Nexus sampler with patterns (pretty cool), Limiter, Link hub with automatic labeling, 2 computer Link, old and new fader start, 1 hand mix via touch screen

I Think, that DJM 2000 is much better, If you can live without DJM 900 soundcard and 2 mic.

I just purchased the DJM 2000 Nexus. I think for a home studio installation which mine is is. I think it gives you much more possibilities. And with the RMX 1000  you wont be missing any effects from the 900. Besides when the 900 came on the market, when have you seen any video/live dj video sets of a dj using the X pad? Now if you a Traktor user and want plug and play function? Then the 900 might be the way to go? But if you are good at midi mapping in Traktor then the 2000's options of all the midi trigger pages blow the 900 away. I use Traktor and I am starting to learn how to midi map it to my needs. Either way you go? I'm sure you will be happy. Remember that when you buy ANY mixer or DJ gear. Don't buy what suits your needs today. Buy gear that you can grow into and with. Good luck...

Im on my last pioneer djm mixer i own a faulty djm900 nexus (stopped working) after 1 month and a half frim purchase date and i own a djm350 solid piece but lacking in effects and only two channels. I might be selling my djm900 after it comes back from pioneer mexico service which warranty didnt cover the faulty unit i bought brand new from a pioneer dealer so pioneer service is charging me 300usd to repair a month old mixer ( they claimed the unit had a voltage problem thru the pro dj link modem) also they tried to blame me and say i was updating the unit and i shutted it down which is a lie either way they just want your money ...

Im going into the a& h xone db4

Well Wolf sounds like you were just unlucky with the mixer you got. I work in electronics, and can tell you that defective units happen sometimes. But I can also tell you that the Bench technicians can also tell what happens to these units when they receive them for repair. So im sure they are not trying to squeeze a few hundred bucks out of you. Pioneer doesn't make there money on us sending in our gear for repair. There are lot's of other great manufactures out there also. But they too have problems from time to time. I have a Denon DN-X1700 mixer that I think is a solid mixer. And i had a sticky fader when I received it. I got it repaired and have had no issues. I'm sure once u get the 900 back it will be fine as well. Good luck.

Did you like your djm 800 ?

When yes,  you would love the djm 900 nexus :-)

I tested the 2000, but it's not my world. I like these classic club mixer like the 900 nexus :-) Never got any problems with.
