Recording with DJM 750

Is it better to use the USB functionality for recording mixes than using REC OUT with RCA's?

What programs are best? I have Adobe Audition 3 and Audacity, or are there are any others recommended?

If using USB, are there any settings to configure within the mixer itself?

I take it when using USB, only the volume faders, EQs and Gains are affected as the Master Volume has no affect?

I personally use the usb recording via djm900 and you are right - when using USB, only the volume faders, EQs and Gains are affected as the Master Volume has no affect. You dont have to configure any settings in mixer itself, Only a settings in program on Windows or mac (see attached file). I use Audacity and it recognizes the line output  of the DJM without any problem. You've got a lot of tutorials on youtube like this  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qqgjOlAaPno . The settings utility for djm750 for both OS (Mac or Windows) is free to download here http://pioneerdj.com/support/product.php?c=2811&lang=en&p=DJM-750-K&t=252

Is the USB option only applicable if using other DJ software such as Traktor & Serato?

I'm trying to record live by playing the tracks through rekordbox.

I've plugged in my USB cable which brings up the DJM750 utility window, switched CH2 and CH3 to USB (3/4 and 5/6) (and also tried REC OUT) but I am getting no sound or waveform or recording levels through either Adobe Audition or Audacity.

Looked at the YouTube video which I've followed the steps but I still can't get it to work.

I think I may have to use the Line In on my PC and RCA's of my mixer after all.

Change everything to RCA and in the utility settings on pc change one mixer out to rec out. And then you can record the sound from all mixer on audacity etc
