recent (jul... 2014 and up) DJM900NXS auto stby failures -- please test..?

all,

as mentioned in http://forums.pioneerdj.com/entries/54553215-DJM900NXS-wake-up-fail-flashing-lfo-led-

In sept I acquired a new DJM900NXS that was made in july 2014. This unit was not able to get out of the auto-stby function. A few clicks beneath the faders and no wake up. This unit has all components replaced internally by Pioneer and when it came back still the same problem.

I got a completely new unit made in aug 2014 -- exactly the same problem -- auto standby works, but the wake function does not work.

A rental mixer that was 'old' already with the same v1.31 formware works OK; Also a mixer in the exhibit room of Pioneer NL (model end 2012)

also has a working auto stby/wake up function.

This leads to believe that there is a problem with this function in later made DJM900NXS mixers.

I have asked this in a dutch forum if people can test it and someone mentioned that he has seen exactly this behavior that I mentioned.

Is there anyone out who wants to mention his/her mixer date, firmware version and if the auto standby works OK or not?

Nothing gets killed. A Power cycle is enough to have the mixer back.

The auto stby function is on per default so the only thing that needs to be done is - switch on mixer, wait for 4 hours and when the unit falls asleep,

try to wake up with the wake knob on the right corner above the display.

If you test it, please be so kind to mention the month/year the mixer was manufactured and firmware version.

I hope now that people will help here......

add note:

Mixer end 2012 -- wake function OK

Mixer begin 2014 -- wake function OK

Mixer1 Jul 2014 --> FAIL; repaired --> FAIL

Mixer2 aug 2014 --> FAIL

Mixer3 jul 2014 --> FAIL

also someone in the netherlands mentioned seeing the same issue.

The LFO led flashes three times. According to the service manual page 27 power up failure:

service is needed. Giving th fact that the first repair also not succeeded and the fact that I see a whole

batch of mixers failing... I would call Pioneer. However they send me back to the reseller. I would think that Pioneer

would be more than happy to be notified of a potential problem on a large number of mixer.

ok nobody seems to care here. really stunning. Even no Pioneer that kicks in.

In the mean time I have a status update.

ICM bax shop the Netherlands (www.bax-shop.nl) we have conducted some tests on the whole stock of mixers; Mixers also made in September 2014 are affected.

In fact we have seen 8+ mixers having this problem and the bax-shop managed to have it confirmed by Pioneer NL as well.

the current status is that probably a firmware update may fix this, excected somewhere begin 2015.

thanks Tim!

A week or so ago I asked my contact (since there is no official Pioneer feedback here) if he knew more and he was chasing someone inside Pioneer.

(It still makes me kind of sad to see that Pioneer does't seem to really care about customers or that we are not important enough)

@Roeland sorry for the delay in responding on this issue, during a change on the Forums this post was not answered, sorry.  I have sent this issue to the engineers and they are preparing  the fix for the 900NXS.  Once we receive the update, we will post to the forums and make sure that you are notified here as well.

The date for release has not been established, but the fix is on its way. Until such time, either keep the unit "active" by touching a control or power-cycling to restore function.

I have been asked by the Bax Shop, to send in my mixer so that KEBE, a company in Eindhoven can take another look. All requested by Pioneer as far as ny information goes.

I will keep a close look at what is being done (if this for instance is a hardware change instead of a firmware change for instance).
Fingers crossed.
