[MERGED] DJM 750 firmware update??

I have recently upgraded my OS on the computer and now my DJ software is having dropouts and laggy response times when using the DJM-750 as sound card. Previously i had no issues on OS X 10.8.5, but now i have issues on OS X 10.10.3

When i check the notes for the currently available driver, it does not actually state that OS X 10.10 is supported, in fact the compatibility list ends with OS X 10.8.

When are we going to see new drivers?? It clearly needs updating and this could be a contributing factor to the problems I am now having.

I'll check with the engineers regarding compatibility as I was pretty sure all models had been updated to 10.10, but one thing that may have changed is the performance of your computer. Not all machines are equally capable of running Yosemite and may result in higher CPU / drive use, which could increase the latency of the audio interface.

Thanks for the heads up Pulse! I will try running at a higher latency but i don't think this is where the problem is, i am running a lot of other audio apps too and the dropouts only occur with Traktor Scratch, also there are a few other people reporting the same problems with scratch enabled DJM mixers.

Chances are the other audio apps aren't as taxing on the buffer as Traktor is!

Try upping the latency and if you still have issues, let me know, we can dig deeper.

I will try with a DJM 850 in next couple of days, people on the Traktor forum are reporting this issue with all 'scratch enabled' DJM mixers. I will also try a higher latency with the DJM 750.

I should also explain a bit more clearly. It is a seemingly random issue, not a permanent issue. Everything will be working fine for days or even weeks, but because the issue is random it makes things useless for live use.. Basically when the issue occurs, there is an audio distortion in the playback from Traktor, it lasts just a second or so but is immediately followed by 1-2 second lag in timecode control. At this point everything needs restarting to get back to normal. As you can imagine, this makes things too unstable to be classed as 'reliable'.

If there is consistency in the users all having the same problem with 10.10.3, it's entirely possible that the fact this occurs so seldom is due to something on the operating system rather than the software / driver / hardware.

Okay, I've tried turning up the latency, tried with a DJM-850, disabled all effects in Traktor, I'm also running Traktor with just 2 decks, tried with different software (same issue with Serato DJ) and also uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers.

... And the issue is still there and actually happening more frequently, literally every time i mix.

Its strange because when i first upgraded to Yosemite, i didn't get any issues, this has developed over the past 3 weeks. A few guys are calling it 'megalatency' and a workaround is to change the latency settings up and down immediately after the problem occurs. This is obviously not a fix but it gets things back to normal with the least hassle (just a little distortion on  the audio).

The one common factor, amongst other people having this issue, seems to be DJM mixers that are 'scratch certified' though i also had the same issue in Serato DJ. Also when the issue happened in Serato i wasn't actually using timecode, just CDJ's in HID mode but it still happened.

I have been digging and found some more information about this but because it regards other mixers as well as the DJM-750, i have started a new thread about it.

@Dave > Per your other thread, http://forums.pioneerdj.com/entries/82649229, I understand it to be an issue within the operating system which seems to be limited to certain hardware configurations. If it were affecting everyone, we'd have more complaints about it. I have passed the information along to engineers on both threads, but will close this one and continue the discussion on the other, linked here.
