DJM Mixer and MIDI Synth keyboard

I am looking at a potential performance keyboard/synth for Dance/Trance that I could plug into a DJ setup in a club (Pioneer CDJ2000nxs / Pioneer DJM900 etc) and have the keyboard as a 3rd Deck (phono input into mixer)?

I'd like to ply chords, riffs, sequences over edited tracks to make it a more live perfomance but don't really want to go down the Laptop/serato/Ableton route.

So i ideally need something that is hands on Synth, maybe with an easy button push "Transpose" so i can find the keys of the tracks im mixing quickly on the Synth.

For trance and house music, the simplest solution at the moment, looks like something like a Roland SH-01 http://www.roland.co.uk/products/details/1074

Does this have an onboard sequencer that i could program different riffs into, store and playback at the club?

Also i believe the DJM900 has MIDI? and so somehow could connect to the Synth? I would think this is so the MIDI clock was all synced?

Any ideas welcome, or others doing this sort of thing incorporating live keyboards, sequences into a DJ Club set up instead of a whole Ableton/controller/laptop set up?

The only guy i found was  http://youtu.be/jzjaj_ASZFA

To answer a couple of quick questions re: the mixer...

  • the DJM does send MIDI signal, but not MIDI clock signal; BPM tempo signal instead - this would be useful for arpegiators, etc.

  • you would use a LINE input, not a PHONO (which has a pre-amplifier designed for a turntable)

I'll leave this open for others to contribute re: keyboards!

Right, so the MIDI out on a DJM Mixer isnt a MIDI clock say for the BPM that is produced by the music going into it at the BPM of the CDJ's?

I only would need this for things, like I would be using a Synth with an internal sequencer, so if i was playing a tune at 140bpm on the CDJ/DJM. this would at least lock the Synth/Midi clock at the same tempo so i could fire off riffs over the top through the DJM mixer (synth connected as a 3rd deck through its own channel)

Sorry if I got this wrong as I dont know much about the MIDI on the DJM mixers
