None of the forums are sorted by recent

Just click the RECENT link at the top of each, do you not have that link? If not, simply add #recent to the end of the URL and load it, the page will sort recent to the top.

We've changed it that way to have a better idea of what common requests are based on users clicking the "me too" button.

Yes I usually do "recent" but sometimes i like to go into 1 particular forum like CDJ-2000 to see if I can find a specie recent one for example
