Creating your own Genres?

open the info tab and type it in,

Ignore the pre selected list :)

Is there any way to delete all of the genres that is pre selected....?

I got 5 categories that i sort my music under. Its on the same way as i do with my cd case.

And for the moment i got 1500 songs in my rekordbox collection and 5 different playlist with each category/genre.

So i need to write the genre of all of the tracks manually?

It seems like rekordbox doesnt really handle that much tracks.

Highlight all the tracks you want to edit then open the info pane and apply the genre you require,

afaik there is no way to remove all the pre selections but you can bulk tag them.

Is there any post here where somebody share there tecniques to arange a big library with different genres in rekordbox?

bulk tagging is as mentioned above.

select all the tracks you want to tad in the collection then open the info pane and add the information you need like album / genre / colour etc

to be honest i dont use my collection that much i do everything by playlists

i have a master playlist for each genre and they are kept in a folder and then i have a folder of sets that i use for stuff that im going to play

if i have a folder of music i want to add i just create a playlist and add the tunes to it (this by default is added to the collection) then put it in my masters for future use.

if i need to make a set i then create a playlist in my sets folder and select from the masters.

i hope this makes sense to you.

another easy one i just touched on is colours, i have seen some use colurs for quick reference,

red - house

blue - breaks

green - garage

yellow - oldskool

etc etc

Now I got the thing with the genres But then I found a second problem.

I always remember the name but not always the artist. Under genre everything is sorted under artist.. Is there anyway to change this?

You could delete all the artists... or use a different sort method.

Sure!  Whatever works for you, every DJ is different.

Now i use the thing pionix mentioned. The genres goes under different colors.
