I am having the same issue. I did notice that the lights do work during the power up sequence.

FolgenDDJ-SX FX1 & FX2 Button Lights NOT WORKING
Hello,
I recently recieved my DDJ-SX in the mail, it works well and is a lot of fun, thank you Pioneer for building this device. However, the 2nd and 3rd 'ON' buttons for both FX panels do not light up. Pressing the buttons will toggle the setting on/off in serato, but does not toggle the red light on/off.
Is there something I need to do in the serato config to get this working? Or perhaps my brand new device was shipped w/ a few broken lights?
Cheers,
Lucas

Now that you mention it, I checked my power up sequence, and the FX lights all turn on. I should probably read the manual..
OMG always issue with the DDJ SX....I think i dont buy this today.....
@markoerregger > That's not a problem with the hardware, it's a problem with how the user has configured it. Here's the comment I posted to that video:
The jogs are capacitive - they measure electrical interference, similar to how a smartphone works. You may find that you need to adjust it to different settings based on the environment. Mine works best when set to around 9:30 position as it won't activate when my hand is ABOVE the platter, only when I touch it, but not set so low that touching it requires any kind of pressure. Just dial it in and you'll find it works great. Should you still have problems with it, contact Pioneer technical support.
@Kenneth & @Lucas > You're talking about the buttons labeled "ON / FX SELECT" below the knob for parameters 2 and 3, correct? Those were possibly missed in the mapping and the engineers have been made aware of it. A future software or firmware update should take care of it. It is not an indication of a malfunctioning unit.
Looking forward to the update so I can make full use of the FX, thanks!
Here's what the engineers said:
Some of the effects of Serato DJ have multiple states in FX2 and FX3.
For example, Phaser has the following parameters.
FX2 button: 6 values of Q Factor (0.2/0.4/0.6/1.0/1.4/2.0)
FX3button: 5 stages of Filter (1Stage/3Stages/5Stages/7Stages/11Stages)As shown above, effects of FX2 and FX3 in SeratoDJ are not always toggled only on and off. This is why the LED is not lit depending on the states.
I have asked, however, if it is possible to display the status for other effects (on/off type) via the LEDs.
