[CLOSED] Virtual DJ and Pioneer DDJ-S1 not detecting sound driver

When I load up virtual DJ I get this error

"Error in the sound driver (DirectX/WDM): Your soundcard is probably not connected, or the settings are incorrect"

Now, on to what I have tried.

I have 2 computers, a laptop and a desktop.  I have plugged my DDJ-S1 into both of them and get the same error.

Virtual DJ does recognize my DDJ-S1, but this is by setting it on my primary sound card (which obviously, not getting any sound from the pioneer board itself, just able to use it to play and load songs from speakers connected to the computer)

As soon as I try to set it to the DDJ-S1 to get sound from it, the error pops up and I'm unable to get any sound what so ever.

I have downloaded the drivers from the serato itch install.  And the drivers from pioneer's website for the DDJ-S1

I have used Serato Itch on both computers, and it works fine.  I can play, mix, and get sound out of speakers and headphones.  My only reasoning to even use Virtual DJ is I need a software equalizer (like 10/15 band) so I don't have to carry and external one.   Why oh why is Serato itch such a butchered down program compared to Serato Live I will never know.  I knew I should of got the T1 and just went with good ol traktor.

Needless to say, if anyone can help or has had this same problem let me know.  Thank you very much for anyone's time in helping me.

i'm sure you have this fixed by now, but i'll put in a comment for those who may also be having this problem.

firstly i'm running osx mountain lion and as soon as i got my ddj-s1 i updated the firmware

the major problem i had was the headphone cue not working.

this has nothing to do with the unit but ur VDJ sound settings

open VDJ preferences, sound setup, output, advanced config

in the 1st box it should read "master" box 2 "Pioneer DDJ -S1" box 3 Output 1&2

now click the + sign and add "Headphones" to box 1, box 2 "Pioneer DDJ -S1" box 3 Output 3&4

click apply and thats it

SIMPLES

other problems u might have b4 this is finding the midi settings.

in spotlight search "MIDI" and open audio midi setup

along the top bar click window then show midi window (took me ages to see it!!)

PIONEER DDJ-S1 should be listed (be sure to scroll sideways - THIS TOOK ME AGES TOO)

click on it and change the device name to DDJ-S1 MIDI

i hope this helps any1 with some of the problems i had
