Oh, and I've pretty much troubleshooted and gone down every checklist I've come across, the device still shows up in Audio MIDI Setup like it normally does. The trim/master/booth controls are set to reasonable levels, all channels are bypassing the crossfader, there are no effects on any channel, and all channels are set to run from the PC. Besides all of that, it works for a few minutes before tapping out, so I've ruled all of that out. Also, there are no other USB devices fighting for attention and I've recreated the problem with wifi/bluetooth on and off and while following all of Serato's recommendations for performance optimization.

FolgenLosing audio with DDJ SX
First, my setup: DDJ SX running Serato DJ 1.6.0/1.6.1 (I updated when the problem happened and didn't solve it) purchased about a month ago, so should have the latest firmware from last year.
Computer: Older white Macbook, 2.4 Ghz processor with 4 GBs of 667 Mhz DDR2 Ram, 750 GB 7200 rpm HDD, running Mac OS X 10.6.8
Problem: Audio will be playing normally, and then everything drops out entirely from the mixer's outs (both masters, booth and headphones), there is nothing coming through the master's vu meters, but still showing audio coming in to the channel playing like normal. The controller still communicates with Serato DJ and if I reboot the controller, audio comes back for a few moments, then cuts out again. Curiously, if I restart Serato and leave the controller on, the audio only comes through in really small but regularly spaced intervals, like it's being extremely gated.
I'm not sure if this is a Serato DJ problem or a problem with the SX itself, but I'll try it out with Traktor 2 and see if it still has the same problems.

hi Evan, have you Tried different midi send outputs? The Pioneer DDJ SX sends a lot of midi messages throu your system.
My Pioneer Asio Settings
256 / 5,8ms (44100Hz) / 16 Bit / 3 Kernel Buffers
My Settings on the Pioneer DDJ SX Midi Send is 5ms
My System is an HP Laptop Intel i5 (480m) 8gb Ram (1333) 250gb SSD + 500gb HDD internal (repalcet with the DVD Drive for my GiG Libary) and 2Tb External (via eSata - If the Music is fully analyzed Serato works fine with that)
Whats tells you the -DropoutCount.log- it should be locatetin in your Default musik Folder - \Music\_Serato_\
