[SOLVED] Disabling Needle Search on the DDJ-SX

I bought your product (DDJ-SX) about 2 years ago and I have been having random problems with it the past year now. Im at the point I'm so frustrated that I took the time to join this forum. Randomly as I play a set your reverse button on the left side randomly goes on. On top of that and more frequent of a problem is that the needle search out of nowhere skipping to another area. I cant even use the middle of the left needle search either. This completely ruins the vibe of the set. Iv paid $1200+ for your equipment only to have it start failing within a year? I called my local Long & McQuade where I bought it and sure enough my warranty is no long available. The guy suggested that I turn off the needle search within Serato but I have now come to learn that this isn't even a feature with my DDJ-SX.

Iv googled this situation and it doesn't seam like I'm alone on this one. You guys claim that "If enough people raise an awareness on this issue that it will be implemented in upcoming software updates". So how come there is so many threads and still no ability to disable? Do you guys have any other suggestions that you can give to the problems I am facing with your product? Being a single father making a purchase of that price is quite substantial, especially when I start facing problems with it only a year in. To conclude I have not dropped or damaged my DDJ-SX in any way.

I look forward to your responce. Thanks

Matt Renkin

@Matt > I'm sorry but it sounds like the hardware has a fault and would require servicing. Unfortunately L&M are correct in that there is only a 1yr manufacturer warranty however if you are under 2 years and used a credit card with warranty extension protection, you would be covered. Either way, I would suggest contacting SF Marketing, who is the authorized Canadian distributor and service centre.
