This is the second weekend where my CDJ 2000 has reset itself while rapidly pressing the CUE button. It is really bizarre and their is no indication that it is about tho happen. I will be tapping the cue button and then it suddenly turns off and begins turning back on. This is really annoying when I am doing this as I am about to drop the track on that deck. Have to set the outgoing track to a loop and wait for the deck to restart as the crowd looks at me like I am a retard!

Never heard of something similar before! Is it reproduceable? If so at which frequency are you tapping the cue button/how many times do you press it before the deck restarts?
Which source are u playing your tracks from and what is tracks format when it happens? Does this problem disappear when you switch to another source, such as cds? Do all your decks crash, or just one, if so is it linked to another?

Sorry for not providing more detail, but I posted this quickly after Friday nights occurrences. It did not happen at all on Saturday or Sunday night, but did happen the weekend before. Unfortunately, recalling all the specifics of the incident are hard since I was about a 1/3 through 6 hours sets. The tapping of the cue button is roughly the speed of a 1/4 note that I do leading up to my drop. It happened twice the night of the 7th, and once or twice the previous weekend. All occurrences happened while the deck was connected to Rekordbox. My other deck has not exhibited any behavior similar to this. I only run mp3's for these sets, and most are 320 stereo, with a few occasional 256 tracks and/or vbr. I honestly am looking back at my track history's and it is hard to recall exactly where they restarted. It was during some serious quick mixing, playing edits that were 2 minutes in length at best. That was the biggest issue I had the weekend before is that the player restarted right as the track that I was going to mix out of dropped into it's last section of 4 bars. Thank god for looping, or it would have ended badly. It did manage to suck some of the energy out of the mix since the out going track usually had nothing but percussive elements.
I am going to test my only theory as to what might be externally causing this issue. The Road Ready cases I am using I noticed have somewhat divotted below the player's feet and since I usually mix with the players in the cases, the cord might be moving in and out enough to just briefly loose power. I know without a doubt, the venues power is more than sufficient. I am running my setup on two separate circuits, splitting the load on each side. No other gear has shown any sign of fluctuations or impact which leads me to conclude that the power coming from the venue cannot be the culprit. Also, each of the two main boxes where I connect my gear are on heavy duty circuit breakers.
I am going to try and reproduce the problem tonight, and see if I can identify whether it is a bad cord/loose connector etc. Also, over the past few weeks I have had several instances of Rekordbox completley crashing and closing while mixing. Everytime that happens, the track that was playing continues to play until Rekordbox is restarted. I have a thumb drive prepped as my backup when this happens, but I keep forgetting to save the crash report. I will make sure the next time this occurs, I save it.
My issue is usually when these issues arise, it is mid set with a packed club looking at you, so it's hard not to be a little flustered and forget to observe the circumstances that lead up to it since all my mind is focussed on is getting the player back up and running.
Even with this recent issues, I still believe that these are the best damn players ever. Yeah I wish they were a bit more solid in build, or that Rekordbox was a bit more customizeable to the individuals workflow, but those are small cons in the larger picture. My mixing has completely evolved with these players in a way that isn't like all the Serato DJ's. Thanks Pioneer for continuing to improve a product, almost 2 yrs after its original release!
I could not duplicate this issue all week. Used decks outside of cases at home on a table. I tried every which way to get it to happen, but they worked flawlessly. I am getting some sticking on my play button, but I am thinking it is from the heavy use they endure.
I will keep my fingers crossed that it is not an issue for my gig tonight, and if it does happen, at least jot done some precise info on it.

That would be the first thing I'd look at fixing. If the cord is not the problem, you should have the player serviced as it could be an internal short or loose connection causing the problem. It should in no way be the cue-button use causing a reboot.
@Pulse thanks for the reply. I am going on two weeks now without an issue with the deck re-starting. I replaced one of the power cords just trying to be overly cautious. My original assumption is more likely than not correct. The cord was just not connected properly. I previously left my cords connected in the flight cases and in almost a year of use, never had an issue. But after my Ethernet port failed, I figured it might be better to not keep cords tucked behind the deck in their respective case because this might be causing unnecessary pressure on the cat5 cable during transit. For the last 2 months or so, I unplug all cables and travel that way. Because I am plugging the power in for each show, it more likely than not was just not connected firm enough and the force of cueing caused enough movement to interrupt power.
So one problem solved, an even bigger one emerges. Last friday night I had my laptop disconnect from players 5x over the course of my set. In all the time I have been using rekordbox connected via pro dj link to my players, this was the first time I have ever had all sound stop. Usually with a rekordbox crash, have enough time to drop to a track on my thumb drive. After now reading that osx 10.7 is not yet confirmed to support rekordbox, I think I might have rushed into updating my laptop a bit to soon. Luckily after following all guides on here, I had no issues Saturday for my gig, but you can imagine the uncertainty that I experienced throughout the entire length of that set. I wish I had any details, but it was simply one second the decks were connected and in the blink of an eye the connection was gone and I was left with silence.
@Christopher > It's possible that the network connection from the laptop to the switch (or DJM2000) wiggled loose. If it was just one player, then I'd say to check that player, but if it was more than one, the troubleshooting points to the laptop connection.
Well it was definitely the connection between the laptop and the switch since both players were still linked but rekordbox was not. Each time it happened, I restarted and while this was going on, I was mixing using my thumb drive on one deck's USB. I used a different cable between the laptop and switch Saturday, so maybe that was the issue. I think it's the amount of Tavel/setup my players have been used as of lately, these little issues are rearing their head. I have played every weekend since the beginning of June 2-3x, so they have been setup/brokendow. A significant number of times. I just hate when you suddenly feel unsure about a piece of gear after a big failure like last Friday. Same feeling after a crossover gave out in a speaker. As long as it was an isolated incident, no big deal.
@Christopher > I understand as I'm a working DJ as well! If you're able to reproduce the problem or at least identify where the issue is generated, it would certainly help in resolving it. Let us know if you're able to find anything else that might help.
